[quote=vasoo;1174291]I am looking for a used Honda Civic in Bangalore.

Hi Vasoo

Just an input..i just took an July 2008 CIVIC V MT model which had done just 4500kms(white)

it costs me 10.5 and i am ok with that as the car is as good as buying new one..

you can cars less than 20000km (2007) for 8.5-9

but try searching for it.

AT model sells lesser than VMT model on seconds...

Thanks Deepan.

I am now negotiating with one seller for a June 2008 V AT model with 6300 kms. He is quoting 9.25 lacs and I am trying to bring it within 8.XX lacs range.

The manual civic and automatic are apart when it comes to driving pleasure > mind you i dont mean speeding or cornering !! The automatic is comfortable to be anywhere on a highway or in traffic for that matter !! The fuel consumption of the A/T is 1-2 km s less per litre but it s made up by the convinience it offers !!!

AT Civics do not have a very good ressale value because of their low FE ( 7 - 8 kpl )

MT Civics generally go for around 8 - 8.5 Lacs here in Agra / Delhi for an End 2007 - 2008 Model with around 20 - 25k on the Odo.

Not much difference for a V or S Model. Most of them you will find are S ( Without Leather Trim ).

In Fact I believe honda just launched a Base Civic withour Audio & Alloys at a very cheap price of 10 Lacs Ex Showroom.

Try for a Used Corrolla also. Brilliant car that one is.

Hey , howcome I am unable to come accross a 2008 Civic AT with < 10k mileage for less than 10.5 lacs in Delhi NCR ?
I always thought prices for pre owned cars in Blore was higher vis-a-vis Delhi due to the higher cost of acquisition of a new car ! Am i missing something here

Used Civic prices in bangalore will be higher as cost of purchase will also be higher when compared to other states where road tax is lesser
For a car which was sold 14+ lacs just 2 years ago, selling at 9 lacs is like 35% depreciation in just 2 years....

Maybe also consider a new Honda City - provides you with almost as much, in terms of driving capability and engine power (118 bhp Vs 132 bhp) , for much less, and the new shape is pretty cool as well.

Would also get all other benefits of a new car.

Friend in Bangalore recently (~3 months ago) bought mid-2007 AT done 17k for 7L. The quote was in high 8 or 9L, but deal was done at 7. Recently spoke with him and he said that you can still get a 7L deal for AT's. His point was that offer 7 no matter what the quote is. I am also looking for such a sweet deal. BTW, he picked the car before dealer *bought* it, so it may have made a difference of 25-50k.

Came across a few cars in carwale and enquired with a few of them. Most of them are listed in the range of 10 to 11 lacs, however most dealers mentioned that there is "tremendous" scope for negotiation.

My budget is about 8 to 9 lacs. What other reliable options do I have on this? My requirements are as follows.

1. Model: Stock Honda Civic 2007 or 2008 model
2. AT preferred, though not averse to MT if I get good deals
3. Not very particular about V or S trims. Not looking for E trim.
4. Mileage must be less than 20k kms
5. First owner preferred even though I am ok with company lease/transfers
@Vasoo: Having read the thread about your new Honda Civic, I am curious to know at what point (and the reasons) did you fall out of looking for a pre-owned civic and booked a new one. I am in a very similar situation and contemplating

One of the main criteria for me was an AT car. Most of the cars I found were not maintained properly and seem to had issues with soft suspension, spongy brakes, bad tyres etc. Many of them asked for all cash payment which I was not ready for. Another factor was the face lift launched in late 2009 which added some good features such as USB port, real time average FE display, Cruise Control, slightly stiffer suspension and some changes to the external appearance. Lack of 6 Cd changer and alloy spare wheel were not relevant to me.

Currently, I think the used civic market is much better and you may be lucky to find a "pre-worshipped" specimen like many members here. It really does not make sense to buy a new one given the huge price difference and that too a petrol sedan. If you want new, suggest you to seriously consider Cruze or wait for the 2012 Civic which may be launched sometime later this year. It is supposed to have better suspension, more FE and better NVH levels in addition to some fancy features such as modified console, bluetooth, vtec indicator, softer leather seats, etc.
