Apart from that since you have rules out most of the sedans I really cant figure which other sedan can really fit 6 feet guys comfortably. I think you should look at MUVs & Suvs if Budget & purpose allow.

Technocrat no offense, but once upon a time Indigo was My favourite and i was Hell bent on going for this vehicle all against my family.

Then after lot of arguments i had to let the Indigo go and go for the Esteem, everyone in our family do not like the look of Indigo, which has got boot added up to Indica.

Coming to the SUV we have The King - Tata Safari in our family and has just finished 35,000kms in 1yr 3months.

Gowda,

I feel you must go for Diesel car considering your daily run. Here are the options I see for you,

Option-1 . Fiat Linea Multijet - 9 lacs - ABS/Air bags/nice looks/Fuel efficiency, the spare parts a cheap too.

Option-2. Optra Magnum Diesel - 10+ Lacs - Very powerful, good package from GM ( you may have to shell out more money for ABS and Airbags)

Option-3. Hyundai Verna CRDI ABS - (9.5 Lacs) Powerful, descent FE, good service from Hyundai

Option-4 .Maruti Dzire ZDI - 7.5+ Lacs - Good FE, very good service, excellent re-sale value - rear seats will be nightmare for you tall guys.

Option-5. Ford Fisesta TDCI ABS -9 lacs - Very good FE. Spare parts are expensive, not very powerful,re-sale value is an issue.

Gowdre,

If you stretch your budget by atleast 10%-15%, you can look at two of the best available cars.

1) VW Jetta
2) Honda Civic-Executive

If this holds even 10% weightage in your decision, then it has to be either SX4/DZire or Verna.

DZire and verna you have ruled out. SX4 ZXI is the way to go.

But considering your daily driving requirements I think you should consider a Diesel vehicle.

Optra. GM, not atleast for its resale value.

They depreciate as fast as its company's stocks

SX4 is too fragile a car, and will again be launched with the Fiat Multijet.

Better buy the Linea.

Amohit - Diesel is what behind our minds, but if we get good petrol vehicle at better price.

Sushrutha - Optra is a good option but as Pavan says the resale is problem and the Service is another issue.

Yes we could wait for some time and we do not know which are the vehicles in pipeline, so that we can plan for the same.

Pavan - But Linea the problem is the conjusted seats behind for a tall guy.

Need to wait and see which are the other vehicles being release in recent times.

Raghu, after an esteem, what I would like to have is a car with good space, chilling AC, good brakes (ABS EBD preferred). I would consider a 1 year old less than 10k kms run Corolla, Civic or a new Fiesta or even a Scorpio CRDe.

Gowda79,
Go in for SX4.
Being form the Maruti Suzuki stable, it is a very reliable car and fits in your budget too.
Take a test drive and you will love the way it moves.

We are only looking for Sedans, if it was a SUV or if i had extra 3-4Lakhs then i would have surely gone for The King - Tata Safari again.
