The new Lancer is expected by early 2010. Once that happens they PLAN to discontinue the old lancer.
Put Cedia in the old Lancer's territory and sells both cars simultaneously.

1) Name conflicts (They can may be call it ANLancer or NLancer, like the Hondas)
2) Discontinuing the old lancer is a challenge as it sells in good numbers in Punjab and Erode

There are folks selling their Diesel Lancer, see if your close circle would be interested to pick it up.

There is nothing wrong with the Diesel Lancer. It is a good sedate family car.
The new models like Fiesta TDCI offer better technology

The emotional connect that a Lancer offers is tough to match.

I think the thread originator has got what he wanted. He perhaps wants the person to who m he had to give advice to remain in the family and definitely be a friend.

i took the easy way out- i directed them to this thread. According to them -
the lancer has a much roomier interior and a nice ride. ive asked them to go and check out the other cars as well, but DVRs review and the carrot of 2L kinda stumped them. im waiting for them to revert with their talk to the folks at the dealership.

@raajks - is the new lancer really coming in 2010? it was supposed to be 2008, then 2009 now 10?

Check out Dezire(long wait though), Indigo, Logan if on budget or Verna and others. Linea will be a good buy too.
