Does a Baleno handle? The V-Tec is a better option.

Before this becomes a baleno v-tec bashing thread .. both the thread starter as well as myself as well as many other posters on this thread know the honda engine is superior to the g16b.Period.

Actually the OHC was the default rally car along with the Lancer to some extent. The Baleno gained popularity after the OHC production stopped. Another reason is that we should not assume that all Maruti spares are cheap. Just like people assume that all Maruti's are fuel efficient. Both these are true for the smaller cars. About the premium Maruti's I can't be sure.

Boss...If you are a Baleno Fan, here is a good news..........There is a modified Baleno with exteriors & Tuned better coming from the Suzuki. Wait for couple of months, you can have it. This is a confidential information shared by Maruti Guy.

Looks unlikely. Why would they restart a discontinued model.

This even sounds highly unlikely, let alone something like this even happening.

Baleno parts are not a problem - at least , I have never faced any.
It's great value right now, marketplace sentiment is what is keeping the prices down, so be a contrarian, and go for it.

Agree with filcord - some really sweet deals available on the Baleno. And from my 4-year experience with the car, it is one of the few cars that give you the option of switching between Fun (in city & highway) and Economy mode.

Highly unlikely. Unless they are talking about the SX4 sports hatch or something.

Parts are not that expensive. Lots of Aunties and Uncles selling their Balenos due to its outdated looks. Well, who is complaining? Lots of these have been driven sedately and have low miles on them.

1+ I agree. Its a perfect blend of a car for many of us. Alas they replaced it with the Fat SX4. <yaawwwwn>

Its confirmed from 2 sources that the old baleno will be released after modification. But it will not be on regular sales, it will be only limited sales.

They are doing head lamp changes, engine tune up & exterior mods.

Lets wait for another 2-3 months

How reliable is their word? I know a few guys from MUL and none even know about this. If only this is true.

This reminds me of the hoax on the famous "qualis" being re-launched for over 2 yrs after it was phased out. Every taxi driver would say this.
Untill the sonalika Rhino was launched, yes it "looked-like-a-qualis".

Trust me, these japs are not dumb guys. They scrap a product when it meets its deadline no matter how well it was selling. And they'll not even think of a re-launch even if you do a hunger strike. They probably scrap the dyes the next day. Let alone the re-birth of a 2 yr old-defunct baleno.
Typical examples are the OHC and the qualis. They were selling well and people begged for a re-launch.
