Fortuner is not out yet and may not come out till next year.. Read another thread on "Toyota Fortuner Pricing".

If you really want a Diesel Toyota, why not go for the Innova D-4D..

yeah, u may be right about Fortuner.
I already have a Fusion and so an innova type of vehicle does not suit my every day office drive.
may be a palio/petra d or a Accent CRDI.

since i have 2/3 months, i thought let me get suggestions

Well i think the Accent is the best sedan in diesel form at that price and the Elantra comes real close to being the best CRDi. But i feel nothing beats the Octy when it comes to diesel but thats at a price.

Elantra seems to be a good car
also since its sale is on lower side you can get better discount.

And for looks have a look at lighter shade it really looks cool
there is one Elantra near my dad's office pista color (don't know/care what wacky name is give to that) & it looks real good.
ask dealer to show you one in lighter shade

petra is seriously slow and noisy in comparison to the crdis, tdis and turbointercooled ones.

the octavia ambiente is the perfect choice.the car is a real jewel and as for space its not that cramped atleast in front seats.the elantra might have abs and tcs but on real world condition its the skoda that rules because it has a chassis that far better than that of elantra.trust me the octavia is very frugal so that you will forget the small diesel sedans and hatchbacks with only half power to what the tdi unit provides.

at more than 6.30lakhs on road the fiat petra is a serious disaster with a lazy and boomy engine, badly outdated interiors, poor service, great resale value and lots of odd looks from people over the great choice.

Montoya, you are right Octy is definately a better car. But look at the requirements
1. FE. Similar. Octy may give you better, buts it diesel so no big issue here
2. Maintainace costs. Elantra wins hands down. My cousin is no way willing to buy a car which will take 6000+ for a free service(Oil change)
3. ASS. Similar. Both companies take good care of customers

As for handling and braking and stuff, he seldom crosses 110, never takes fast turns. For him even accent crdi is a great option too but he wants car to be slightly bigger. So for his requirement octy gives nothing more except for looks which he is willing to overlook. Infact scorpio crdi als fits the bill better than the octy.

Moreover he had 2 indigo's and he is perfectly happy with them as per maintainace costs, handling and power. So elantra is an overkill.

Tsk - Hyundai is leagues ahead as far as A.S.S is concerned. Skoda cant hold a torch to hyundai in that respect

so - Elantra wins here IMO

Hmm i can only vouch for hyundai being good. No idea about skoda. Is there ASS not as good because there dealerships are rare or is it because of poor ASS at the existing dealerships?
