Steeroid, the Sonata history is as such

2001.. Hyundai launched Sonata in two variants. The bog standard Sonata and the Sonata Gold. In 4 pot 2.0s. The Gold was what the Elegance is to the Skoda Octy. A frilled up Sonata with TC, ABS, airbags, alloy wheels etc.

Late 02/Early 03... The 2.7 V6

Late 03/Early 04. The S20. Base Sonata renamed. Lost a few frills.

Late04/Early 05. Gold discontinued. Only S20 and V6 for sale.

I think it should help you understand Hyundai and their confusing marketing and positioning stance.

Bro,
with the New Sonata coming out soon,
you should not pay a penny more then 7L for the S20.
As for the Gold,
Just forget it. It is just not worth it.
There is a Black Sonata Gold done 12Kkm going for 6.75 (nego) here in Mumbai.

Well its as confusing (less confusing, actually) as having to deal with Ambiente, Elegance, L&K, Rider, RS and the likes...

But then of course thats Skoda and therefore we are all very clear about their marketing and positioning.

Aadix,
there isn't any LE edition of the Accord yet.
You must have seen the VTiL version with 7 spoke alloys and all.
An Accord here 2003 with 10 - 20 KKm would cost 9L and a 2001 standard around 7L tops.
So, even with lifetime tax, it is cheaper buying an used car here.
BTW,
why no Mondeo?
There is one for 7.5 - 8 L here in Mumbai done 40 something KKm.

i think still, u should go in for the merc. Take it to sanghi or auto hangar or any other reputed service agent in your city. they charge around 2500/- for a full check up and report (three to five hours) and give u an estimate of what itll cost to set things right if there are any, wrong, in the first place.

hmmm
u are right abt the accord, wonder why the hyd dealer sold it stating it was a limited edition.
well lambo, dad isnt intrested in a mondeo coz of lac of ground clearance, the way to our factory isnt that great so thats one reason, while the other is the spare parts are way too expensive.

and bud v 16
dad had mercs before and all were bought new, so his reason is that if he is gonna buy a merc thats gonna be only a brand new one and not a second hand.

But aadix bro,
new mercs aren't as good as the older ones.
Since Mondeo is out of question,
what about Camry?
Will keep an eye out for Sonatas and accords and Camrys out here.
