Kolkata Hyundai Elantra GT (base petrol model) prices .. about 2 months back ..
Ex-showroom: 8,53,794.
Insurance: 33,165 - Free
Regn/Road Tax: 34,000 - Free
Finance discount for 7 L loan - approx 30K ..

Net OTR = 8.23 L - a discount of 1L over the official OTR price of around 9.2L

All this was pre-negotiation - They gave ample hints that they were willing to throw in more freebies once I started negotiating.

The deal will surely be even more lucrative in December.

The ZX VTEC costs 8.72 L OTR .. no discounts .. you could get the fully loaded Elantra Petrol GLS (top model) at that price ..

Wether u consider mileage or not, Elantra Rocks!

Petrol version, less mileage but great pickup comapred to NHC
Diesel version, great mileage and at par or better pickup compared to NHC.

add Rs.4,900 towards the cost of K&N Air Filter, which i say is a NOT TO MISS item number!

well, the Interior Quality of the Elantra is far more superior than the Accen't, Fiesta, and Skoda and can say, equal or better than the NHC for sure! thou, compared to Toyota, its a bit lacking. ! but skoda has TOUGH, never to die interiors.

why is everyone so against hyundai elantra here. Look at the features it has more than the zx vtec version. auto ac, tcs , abs , DTE(distance to empty meter) , 8cd changer and many more. the mileage and resale value is the only drawback for this car , but then your gonna keep the car for more than 3 years ; by then the resale value wouldn't have much difference. AND BTW DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA OF THE NEW ELANTRA MODEL THAT IS GONNA BE LAUNCHED BY 8TH JANUARY.

Why not buy the Optra instead of the Elantra? It seems like a better deal overall, if you don't like the City.

Optra is a bit expensive and lacks the features and comforts that elantra provides.

And I guess optra's FE is lesser than Elantra petrol.

but interiors of optra is something no other car under 10lacs has.
