Everybody knows that long long ago, a million years back that we [i mean humans.......not WE literally] were monkeys. As the years passed[millions of years], climate changed these monkeys evolved into human beings. And now we are better off than these monkeys.
The story's the same for cars although the time for evolution is much less. *All the old/vintage/classic cars have evolved in to modern automobiles with the latest technologies. Take a look at the Rover Mini, the VW Beetle. They have been the best selling cars at one time. Now they have evolved. But they still retain their original looks. And they still sell. But the HM Ambassador has remained the same. The same look, same lights, same quality, same interiors. Just a chrome strip here, a diff grille, and a sick rear light and they call it the Ambassador Grand. They are the oldest manufacturers in India along with TATA and Mahindra. They have been selling cars for more than 30-40 years and they still do not understand what the Indian consumer wants. Tata, a truck manufacturing company has managed to give us the Indica, Indigo, Safari within a period of just 7-8 years. Mahindra has given us the the CJ's, Armada's, Scorpio's.
I'm sure that if the Ambassador and the Dukkar Fiat were given a "Mini" treatment they would surely look cool and classic. Good quality. Alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, sporty interiors etc etc. But no. HM will not do that. They are human anyways. They will take a million years to evolve the Amby. |
