Most of you must have seen the "sylvester stallone"movie "Over the top"dedicated to"Arm Wrestling"I have been in love with this sport ever since.The game requires high technical skills apart from brute muscular strength, It was introduced in India in early 70’s. now it has gradually started developing into a professional sport. It has reached to a stage where all 28 states have adopted the game and all the state associations are working hard for its development.
The 35th National Arm Wrestling Championship-2011 is being held at the following venue:-

Venue: Ludhiana, Punjab
Date: 16th to 20th June 2011.
Organized by: Punjab Arm Wrestling Association
Under the Auspices of: Indian Arm Wrestling Federation

In case anyone from H.P. is interested in competing, they can contact me on this thread.All the expenses will be borne by the Himachal Arm Wrestling Association.I will be competing in the 110kg + category.

2nd picture is of Alexey Voevoda , (He holds a good deal of recognition as a professional arm wrestler, having secured several Russian arm wrestling championships. He won the Zloty Tur 2004 cup one year later, defeating high level armwrestlers such as Bagent, John Brzenk, Matt Girdner, and Alexy Semerenko. Voevoda reclaimed the WAF championship in 2004 (left- and right-handed) and won the European Championship the same year. After a left hand vendetta match with Alexey Semerenko (winning 4-2) and Travis Bagent (losing 5-1) in 2005, Voevoda took a break from his professional arm wrestling career to return bobsleigh training until 2007.)*

3rd picture is of jhon Brzenk , who is an arm wrestling legend.He is standing with cyplenkov,who was the runners-up in that event.

4th picture is of another Russian Arsen Liliev ,who is the best pound for pound armwrestler.

In the 5th pic you can again see cyplenkov. I somehow like this sport more than cricket as not many a things can be fixed here, & you wont find them on bet365.com either.
