Not possible mate. First of all, it's Metallica and not Madonna (her tickets cost ~$ 350 a piece) And secondly, this is at Bangalore and not at Los Angeles

At 4.5k, one would rather play a big concert in Mumbai.

Tickets are around INR 2000, give or take a few hundreds.

I can envision tens of thousands of people who would be willing to part with Rs.4500 for a Metallica concert ticket but Madonna's show (however "sticky & sweet" her show is ) might not garner even 1/3rd of the crowd turnout of a Metallica live performance if tickets were priced the same.

PS: I hope the Metallica concert tickets are reasonably priced ~Rs.2000

Once again, this is India and not LA, my friend!
Tens of thousands of people as you've said, even if they happen to attend the concert, I bet not even 60% of them must be employed. Meaning, most of them are going to be students from high schools and colleges dependent on their parents.

So here goes:

1. Concert Tickets - INR 4500
2. Travel - INR 3000(by road) / INR 8500(by air)
3. Stay at Bangalore for 2 days - INR 1500
4. Food etc. - INR 1500

That sums up to approximately an average sum of ~ INR 12000. Where is that money gonna come from now?

Think again!

Dude,
I know the fanaticism of fans when it comes to Metallica and the likes.
Just to give u an example, back in 2002 when Pink Floyd (Roger Waters) performed only in Bangalore, there was a train bogey full of PF fans which left Pune for the show. Back then there were mostly students (including me) in that contingent.
For a country the size of India, they performed only in one city - Bangalore.

Of course the next time Roger Waters was in India (2007), they performed in Mumbai as well. Was easy for us then

Similarly this time the fans have no choice but either Delhi or Bangalore.

Guys, did any of you reserve tickets thru ticketgenie? I've just got an email from them that I can make the payment and confirm my ticket. Just wondering if any others also got an email, since I was not too sure of how trustworthy ticketgenie is.

You may go ahead and make the payment. Because I believe the question of 'Ticketgenie' being authentic should've been thought of during registration where they ask you for your driver's license/passport number!

But anyway, you can book them on TG. No worries! Cheers!

Rs.2750/ticket is little expensive. I was hoping it would be 2K

Will most probably be there with my wife.....

Have heard that the tickets are also sold at Planet M. Does anybody know where one can buy the tickets over the counter?

re: Metallica in Bangalore - 30 Oct 2011: Possible TBHP Meet

I've booked my tickets on ticketgenie.in and they are expected to be delivered first week of October.

Any Bangaloreans on this thread- can you suggest a decent place to stay near the venue? A serviced apartment should be best, I guess. I have a party of 10

We are planning to make a roadtrip of it. Two cars (my Vento being one) and a couple of guys are keen to take their bikes (I am not that keen, and trying to dissuade them and join me in the car instead). Plan is to leave Pune early on Friday and reach late that day/ early Saturday. Rest/catch up on Bangy on Sat, enjoy the show on Sunday and then drive back on Monday.

@Monaro- you not roadtripping!??
