^^ Italy is really playing some delightful football, I am specially liking the midfield part of the team. Also, apart from the superb due of Immobile and Insigne, specially impressed with Cheillini and how is moving through in the field. Interesting times ahead indeed.

The Macedonians are such an earnest and hard-working bunch, limited resources but trying to play proper football.

Classy tribute for the retiring Pandev when he was subbed off.

Netherlands, arguably dodgy defense notwithstanding, are playing well and looking good for the knockouts.

Hungary is playing like "group of death, what is that?"

‘Group of Death’ finally lives upto its billing in EURO 2020. Hungary is making Munich feel like Budapest tonight .. the last day of the group stages is indeed full of drama !!

Edit: Germany just equalised.. phew

Feeling bad for Hungary, they indeed put up a splendid show in the whole tournament.

More thrills than a cheap airport novel!

Portugal and Germany were both on the way out at different points tonight, but both get through. Take a bow Hungary; gave it everything, and nearly made it.

Hungary played with a lot of heart. Even their first loss to Portugal by 3-0 was somewhat undeserved.

Yep, kept swinging like a pendulum

but this is the first time in this tournament when the refereeing looked a bit iffy and controversial.

Who on earth puts France, Germany and Portugal in the same group? Italy is lucky, they don't have any serious competition. They should have made 8 groups and split the teams evenly so none of them would have any advantage. Eagerly waiting for England vs Germany. I hope Die Mannschaft doesn't disappoint me.

Breaking News: UEFA have scrapped the away goals rule for two-legged ties in European club competitions, beginning 2021/22 season.

All ties level on aggregate at the end of second leg now go to extra-time.

Good move. I never liked it. Always felt that the team with the second leg home match had an advantage.

Italy got pushed hard by tenacious Austria, but it's good for belief to win the hard way sometimes. Bachmann had a great game in goal.

Wales just got whacked, didn't really do anything after a bright first few minutes. Denmark are effective, if not fancy.

Portugal unlucky to bow out at this stage. A bit of luck (Dias header, shot against post) and the plot would have been different, but that's football.
Cheers to a crippled Belgium for the next stage, without E. Hazard and KDB.
