Well done, Italy! Superb defence and keeping cool in a crunch situation made sure they won.
No one could have imagined Zidane losing his cool. Still, hats off to him - came out of retirement and looked like he hadn't lost a day!
Goodbye, Zizou. We'll miss you!
Now that the World Cup is over, TV is just a bore!

The Football Thread

Was wondering if there are Football enthusiasts amongst T-BHPians. If there are, this is the place to post stuff pertinent to football. Be it the English Premier League, the Spanish Primera Liga, the Italian Serie A, the UEFA Champions League or the Euro 2008, folks are welcome to post their ideas, thoughts etc.

Hail 'The Beautiful Game'!

Mods, if such a thread already exists, you may delete this.

Am a Football freak, do follow the English Premier League, though my club - Newcastle United is in a bad patch yet again!

Man Utd seems to be in great form as usual!

Welcome finneyp. Yes, Newcastle have been struggling all season long. However, there seems to be good news round the corner with a possible appointment of Gerard Houllier (ex-Liverpool) as the next manager.

Man Utd, in this form are almost unbeatable. However, its still a three-horse race with Arsenal and Chelsea still pretty much in the reckoning.

Keep posting.

I follow the EPL along with my son. He's a die-hard Man Utd fan while I root for Chelsea.

Finney, my condolences on last weekend's score

I have merged the Football thread with the FIFA2006 thread.

Lets continue here.

Man U - seems to be the team to beat this year in the EPL. Arsenal in contention but not looking too confident , Chelsea also not impressive.

Rooney and Ronaldo are the driving force this time behind ManU.

Well i am a very fickle fan or supporter. As of now changed teams like i change clothes. Was an arsenal fan and then moved to chelsea. Didnt like the way chelsea played the game. Have been an AC milan fan ever since.
Havent been watching the game for quite some time though but still i prefer it over cricket!!

Have been following the Premiership for more than 10 years now. A Man Utd fan for a lifetime, even if they are relegated sometime in the distant future (the possibility is bleak, though!).

My condolences to the Newcastle fans. And I reserve my condolences because I can see many more such scorelines in future in favor of Man Utd.

Sir Alex Ferguson is one genius manager, despite they lose and add star players every season, they are so consistent in thier performance!

Liverpool closely follow them in this regard!

I have a dislike for Aresnal, coz it seems like non-english Club playing in a english country!

Man-U is down 0-1 to Tottenham with 35 mins gone.

EDIT - Tevez equalises , brilliant strike.

Its 1-1 now

Have edited the poll to find out who everyone here thinks will win the 2008 EPL ? Do vote.
