Re: The Football Thread

One had to win, neither deserved to lose. Inter flew under the radar while everyone gushed over and waxed eloquent about 'favorites'.

Something about Barcelona and epic knockout ties! 4th in less than a decade, though they've now ended up on the wrong end of the result thrice.

Re: The Football Thread

Being a life-long (and hard core) BARCA fan, I am gutted with the result. They were just couple of mins away from reaching the final.

They may be fighting neck-and-neck with RM in the league, but when it comes to UCL, they are always luckless I feel. More than 10 years since they have reached the final. I really hope that they can come back strong next year and win the trophy.

Re: The Football Thread

RM vs Barca mind you would be always an electrifying fast paced game. So much ups and downs, looks like the referee was biased towards RM, didn’t gave the penalty to Barca and disallowed one goal, still Barca won 4-3 with 2 down in 15 mins.

Although a RM fan, was good to see the game displayed by Barca, great rivalry goes on !!

Happened to catch the game by chance because we had guests over and they insisted. Brilliant match!

Barca is almost there now with a 7 point lead in the table.

Re: The Football Thread

The Champions league final is one for the ages. Never seen a team dominate a final like the way PSG played the whole game tonight. A young team just trounced Inter Milan and capped an extraordinary season by winning the CL in style. Luis Enrique deserves every accolade that will come his way now , what a match

Agree! Watched just the highlights, but the scoreline was mind-blowing for what is a final.

Re: The Football Thread

Congrats to Portugal on winning the UEFA Nations League finals for 2025, beating Spain, albeit on penalties.

I'm personally also happy that Ronaldo scored, yet again.

Damn is this guy still playing competitive football @40, they needs some serious fitness levels, I thought he’s busy minting money at playing Saudi league during his fag end of career.

He also scored during the semi final match against Germany, so yes he's right up there playing at the national level and scoring. That said, I am not sure if it's been announced if he's continuing at Al Nasr after this season or not.

Ronaldo's Al Nasr stint is definitely over as he hinted in a post saying 'This chapter is over' after Al Nasr's last match of the season. Also, he is a free agent from next month.
Looking at his past career moves of trying out different leagues, i am thinking a move to MLS or back to Sporting Lisbon.

Looks like he has decided to stay on at Al Nassr, as per some articles I saw.
