What a match!! Croatian players showed what it takes to not give up. Even Brazil didnt play unfair by wasting time and playing passing game when they got 1-0 lead. But the young Brazil team needs to mature still. They have good future.

Though my heart has always been firmly for the South American teams (actually, non-European sides) at world cups, what heart shown by the Croatian and Dutch sides. What amazing back-to-back games!

What a smart second goal by the Dutch. Great play!

Unfortunate that the match had so many yellow-card skirmishes. Though I thought the referee was just doing his job, it was a bad-tempered match all around. Hope that doesn't cost Argentina later. Matches like this drain teams. Hope they have enough reserves for the next match.

Nonsense! Portugal should have played Ronaldo from the beginning. Hattrick scorer in the last match was nowhere to be seen.

In the semis now we have 1 South American, 1 African, and 2 European teams (one western and other central). That is good!

Morocco saved some fabulous attempts on target and the luck favored them as well. Hoping ENG v FRA to be a terrific quarterfinal as well. FRA would be under a lot of pressure being the defending champs.

Portugal was lucky that scoreline remained 1-0 till end, there were clear chances missed by Moroccans which could have been converted easily by some seasoned strikers of top teams. Morocco has shown heart and this team can do great, but they need really good finishers who can net goals at drop of a hat once in D upon seeing clear chance.

I have to take responsibility for England's loss!

I generally avoid watching games where I am emotionally invested, because the side I back usually ends up losing. But this time I couldn't resist, because I like Gareth Southgate, of all people! Voila! Kane misses the penalty - just as I envisioned as he ran in to take it! You could see the weight of the world on his face, poor man. Should have let Bellingham take it - young, untrammelled by expectations... Ah well! On to the Euros...

I think Ronaldo's interview with Morgan made more bad than good to him. Santos/Portugal management just kept him in the squad to avoid media/fans backlash. How can you keep him on the bench for a quater final? Santos after the match said he has no regrets on not starting Ronaldo. The media on the other hand is again targeting Ronaldo for not staying back with the team mates after the loss.

What a world Cup man! So interesting.
I think France are the favourites, especially their finish is very good.
Argentina vs Croatia, it will be very difficult to beat Croatia's defence, strategy and endurance till last minute.
