I think he spent 10 years in the middle at PAL, somewhere in 1984-94.

AND !! a man who after 30 years was at the zenith of his passion and delivering his best !! Its a shame M&M didn't wake up! They could have drawn so much more from BD for the current Thar and its future iterations.

Correct, 4 years prior to that he was in M&M, joined as a trainee.

i had a strong feeling about him joining Force Motors because of reviving the Gurkha.

then i thought maybe in maruti as they need some one to take of the jimny, but that was a small job considering the man himself.

now the K block news has confirmed the Tata as the destination!

i would still be buying the Thar MDI, but will wait for the NEW product from TATA, engineered by the MAN himself.

Whatever little I have observed ( about Him ) , this man is not going to sit back quiet . He will be restless soon & make others too .

He is quite capable to wake up a sleeping giant & then ...

--well we will possibly see the history being written once more .

If He is indeed with TATA, TATA (group) has the best opportunity now,

They have one of India's most respected auto technocrat with a passion for 4X4 vehicles.

They also have a company which manufactures some of world's best 4X4s (J - Land Rover).

I hope you could give a thought to reviving the sierra in a 4x4 mode with the DiCor engine.

I would like a Safari, with
- 4x4
- ABC
- Options like Differential Locks, LSD, Front and Rear Guard, Winch etc.
- Larger wider tyres - 265/17 to give better GC
- Of course, AC & Heater
- Rear Wiper & Defroster
- Lowest Trim Level with none of these extra gizmos :
. ICE
. Rain Censors
. Steering mounted controls
. Cruise control

In short a 4x4 with minimum frills and maximum off road credentials. Hope Behram Dhabhar can pull this off.
