Guys take some time out to listen to Eluveitie, especially their album Evocation I:The Arcane Domnion.

They are a great Swiss Folk Metal band, a really different kind of sound. Had a great experience at their concert about a year ago (including the minor lathi charge).

Came across this coverage report (In Metal Rules) of Halford and Ozzy doing a show together. Surprisingly lead guitarist for Halford is Roy Z who was lead for some of the Bruce's solo albums (I know about Tyranny of Souls)

^Roy Z was also the co/producer for Priest's last few albums (since the re-union) if I am not mistaken.

I'm not sure if this post is appropriate for this thread. I didn't know where else to post it. Mods, please edit and re-post elsewhere if necessary.

Had been to the Floyd tribute concert @ the UB City Amphitheater last Saturday, and needless to say, it was fantastic! Loved the atmosphere and the feel of the Amphitheater, and the band, 'Breathe', was exceptional.

They really nailed some of my favourite Floyd tracks, like Echoes, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Hey You and The Dark Side Of The Moon.

Here are some pictures of the concert and a video as well!

Nightwish to make a movie and an album by the same name.
Work has already started and they have given quite some interviews.

The album/movie would be called Imaginarium.

@Suhaas, That would have been real out there. More importantly how do you get to know about such things!

Kyra Theatre began to promote the event on Facebook late last month (January) and there was an advertisement in the news paper as well! I think it was in The Times Of India.

All I have to say is, it was phenomenal! The lighting, the setting, the equipment and the crowd was fabulous. It was a magical evening for me. 'Echoes', my favourite Floyd track was performed to perfection.

I hear that they will be back. I will not miss them for the World!

Matt Barlow retires from Iced Earth, citing personal reasons after re-joing them in 2007 after Tim-Ripper-Owens. His message is available on the IE official site.

re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

Couple of weeks back i was at Bandstand Bandra and there was a metal gig happening there at the Bandstand amphitheatre, with free entry..where some bands like Summerpint Junkie, blind ritual, the riot peddlers etc were playing. It was perfect way to spend a lazy evening, a free gig with the sea breeze on ur face. Last week again stumbled upon a gig in Nerul RAIT. Is there a calender of sorts for these gigs? btw here are the pics of the Bandra gig.

Pretty interesting stuff prateek. Tool do seem to think a lot about what goes on in their music in general. I am not a huge fan but Lateralus is a good album.
