The news is more credible now that the band site corroborates it. It says that the Bangalore show is part of the Sonisphere festival. Sonisphere has been a touring metal festival with multiple bands. There are rumors that some other bands will be included in the line up too. Let's wait and watch.

@abhay

I still have to get my hands on the new Septicflesh.

re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

^you think 6 years is too long?

Imagine my emotions when I heard Iron Maiden live in Banglore after listening to them for more than 15 years before that show!

Sonisphere sounds like the better gig to me, but then Delhi has F1 as an added spice. Of course it all depends on how much I want to spend, but looks like I might head to Bangalore if the complete line-up has a few more decent bands.

Are the tickets on sale yet? I'm just waiting to see if there are any other bands in the line up. If it's Slayer I'm definitley going. But just to watch Metallica.....???

I am 18 years old. I started listening to Metallica when I was 12. In 7th standard, Seek & Destroy was the first song I heard. 15 yeas back I was 3 years old

Metallica is the headlining band. There are speculations that Pearl Jam are going to open for them.

Ticket sale has been delayed:

I dont think metallica or slayer would play as part of a line-up in a new country (for them) on what is not even a tour, just 2 concerts....
And i dont see either of them as viable for opening for the other one.
but divine intervention, and unnamed feeling ,on the same day...i'd probably be listed as OD victim somewhere..

re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

Skye1592, yeah I know ! There are indeed some "old" metalheads around here like me, Wolf and I guess mayankk too!

Wolf, I'm getting the same feeling, I'm not sure if I want to go see just 'tallica all the way to B/D (unfortunately Slayer isn't a band of which I'm that big a fan either)

If this was Megadeth/Testament/Kreator this would not have even been an issue! Pearl Jam? No thanks. So I guess should wait till we know more.
I am still hoping for a Priest show this year though.

edit: btw Skye, Seek & Destroy was one of the first thrash metal songs I heard back when I myself was in my 9/10th std in school and also one of the first riffs I learnt when I got my electric guitar

That's awesome Abhay! I'm fine with Pearl Jam opening. I like grunge. But I would preferred Testament or Slayer. Or OPETH! I love Opeth.
Nice to know that you play the guitar! I play too Please do share some of the other songs you can play.

Metallica has been a huge influence for me and my band. So no matter what, I HAVE to see them live

Besides, they are one of my favorite bands.

P.S. Abhay, I love Iron Maiden too! I've seen them live both in Mumbai and B'lore! Up the Irons!
