Jokes aside, but a lot of people cannot understand heavy metal/rock music!!. Even my wife cannot!. For me, it has helped me get through a lot of $4it in my life and I attribute a lot of my attitude to my taste in music. It is certainly an acquired taste and no harm in not liking it. But I never let anyone describe it as senseless. That is like blasphemy!

Couldn't agree more dude! By the way you guys in bangalore have quite a scene with some good pubs playing metal. I remember going to a place called "Guzzlers Inn" before the Megadeth concert. The Dj was blasting Megadeth back to back and the place was full of dudes in black (totally sloshed) and folks in our corner almost started a moshpit and the staff were horrified

i look forward going there again.

Hmm.....so you dig bands with female vocalists. Check out "iwrestledabearonce"(yes that's the band's name) they're very innovative, blend grindcore with jazz and electronica and are still as heavy as hell. Did I mention they have a very talented female doing main vocals.

hmm, lemme check that today.. some of the female vocalist are super talented, But i felt for a band like arch enemy a male vocalist was better, angela gossow did not quite do justice.
She is an ok singer and is hot looking, that did the job for the band..

Lacuna coil is a good band minus the donkey voice male vocalist.

Oh! Yeah! Damn, remember that one. I swear that one song above all, used to give me nightmares! Crank up the volume, have a swig and close my eyes. Damn freaked out cover of the already spooky song.

Yes! I mean look at the bands on that album......Sepultura, Biohazard, Ministry, Cathedral, White Zombie, FNM.....great stuff. do check out NIB 2 as well.

Any decent places in Mumbai that are not Metal shy? There's this lil pub near CST where the Dj plays our stuff (death, black everything) while we play pool, however the sound system sucks. Are there any pubs in the suburbs that play metal?

Has anyone heard the new Nile album "Those whom the gods detest"? I have just had my first listen and it's easily one of the best metal albums that I have heard this year.

If you are into death metal and haven't heard TWTGD, do yrou self a favor and check it out!

Wolfheart, I am not too much into death metal (at least the modern variety, I do like Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary etc) but will try and have a listen. Sometimes its much harder for me to "get" these modern bands than the older stuff. (I am old!)

Got Megadeth's Endgame CD as a birthday gift...pretty good even though a bit routine stuff on it. The guitar work is stellar as is the norm with Mustaine and this time he has a great new lead to play with (Broderick).

Have also been listening to some Arsis (We are the nightmare album). Not bad at all.
