Yes i am looking forward to the Maiden release too, lets hope they still keep going. Their live shows can put other younger bands to shame.

ampere - Iced Earth fan here - I know its not the most challenging/technical stuff out there but they do what they do very well. Pounding, crushing rhythms and soaring vocals with some dark melody added. I love them even more as their riffs are so much fun to play as well :-)

Abhay, Not sure if you are aware there is a band called Demons and Wizards run by Hansi (Blind Guardian Vocalist) and Schaffer ! They have had two good release in the last 10-15 years !

They do it as a fun part between their subsequent releases.

If you like multi layered tracks, take a listening of Nightfall in Middle Earth by Guardian. I was blown away !

Heard about the band but not heard the music.

However of late some one provided a Mallu Rock Album called Avial !

To say the least, the album was very lively !
It was named Nada Nada.

Great to hear that. I mostly follow them online and keep track of new releases and mostly buy them through Amazon.
You dont get those labels in India. At least I am yet to find one in Bangalore.

Did someone say Avial? I've heard of them and have heard some of their tracks and they're great! Very fresh and off-beat. A friend of mine suggested that I listen to them. His cousin is the lead guitarist of Avial, by the way!

The album seems to be inspired by Star Trek with titles like "The Final Frontier" and "Where No man ....".

Yes it does seem like some sort of space-concept album from the track list (following on the war themed A Matter of Life and Death)

Listened to Watchtower's new song - The size of matter - pretty good and you have to check it out if you like your thrash metal (this is more of the prog/technical/jazz style thrash though)
