Many thanks for sharing your experience. We were at their factory yesterday and liked a sofa very much. The pre-sales experience is good. For your order, did they deliver on time?

Second option we are considering is Royal Oak. But the reviews - including in this thread are not very encouraging.

Damn. Wish i had seen this sooner. I bought an office chair from Durian whose back in the upright position leans forward. Got it adjusted again from the assembly guy but it's very uncomfortable and causing back problems.

Been chasing them to fix it or give me a replacement or refund since Jan, a week after i bought the chair but no luck other than "it's like this only and we will see" responses. Contacted them via various methods.

Can't say for sure if all their products are bad but their customer service really is utter utter garbage

Re: The Furniture Thread (Home/Office)

I had recently changed the cushions and upholstery of my sofa and my fault that I failed to think about the materials involved. No idea as to what was done.

This humid summer has really made me go nuts. The sofa gets hot real fast and i have started sitting on the floor now to watch TV!

Seriously thinking of changing the sofa.

What should I be looking for while doing a reupholstery work?

Not sure what cushioning material is used.
If it is the regular foam cushions, most of them do not conduct heat well, leading to feeling hot. This will be offsetted to some extent thick, breathable upholstery is used (not just natural fabric, even polyester works). Had a similar experience a decade back, and this feeling of "heat" goes away a few weeks after usage. In the interim, consider putting a cotton rug.

Re: The Furniture Thread (Home/Office)

Hello BHPians,

I am looking to buy one free standing bookshelf with doors, preferably made of Sheesham wood.
Any good recommendations online or finding them in local stores of Bengaluru ?

Shekhawati furniture in HSR has a good collection of Sheesham products. They are also highly reliable. Changed my bedside tables free of cost after they were infested by the Royal Oak bed. Provide lifetime warranty against manufactured defects.
Highly recommended.

PS: No commercial interests in the above stores.

I second this. I have visited his studio a few times and the quality of the work is top notch. He also posts frequently on Instagram with the same handle.

Re: The Furniture Thread (Home/Office)

Folks in Bengaluru - looking for feedback on Teak Wood Factory in J P Nagar, Bengaluru : https://www.teakwoodfactory.com/

Planning to get a Custom Cot done and considering Rahul Furniture on Lady Curzon Road and as an alternative also looking at Teak Wood Factory. Any other recommendations also welcome.

Re: The Furniture Thread (Home/Office)

Hi Guys,
I am looking for dressing table mirror. I am not impressed with my local carpenter. So looking at the readymade options. There are quite a few brands like woodenstreet, urbanladder, godrej interior, nilkamal, hometown, pepperfry etc. Which one do you think is the best in terms of quality and aesthetics? ( Preferable someone who has a local store, so that we can see it in person)

(My experience dealing with the readymade units is limited. Have a royaloak computer table. The drawer broke after 2 years. Have a dressing table from a local vendor. The door doesn't close. And the dining table from hometown always shakes)
