WANTED : Isuzu 1.8 Pistons...20 oversize

Hi Team

The engine rebuild is going on, and I am on the lookout for one set of pistons and rings for the Isuzu 1.8 Petrol (Contessa Engine). Size is "20 oversize". Can anyone help me out in this?

Thanks much

Hi Nitrous,

I am answering on his behalf since I am executing the project. We only need the oversize pistons & rings to eliminate the need for the sleeve.

OT:
Oh ok, Should there be a small performance increase from the oversized pistons??
I always wondered why people go in for oversized pistons.

I think the sleeve is used to avoid the drop in FE...n with oversized pistons there will some increase in power..

Hi,

The sleeve is used to eliminate the play in the pistons, whilst oversize pistons besides doing the same job also provide additional power. FE has no role in here.

After driving for xxxx kms there is wear in the block bore which causes play in the pistons leading to a chain reaction(drop in performance, smoking engines, lower compression etc)

Hey Mods,

I think you need to close this thread since we did not get the oversize pistons and have already procured the standard pistons and rings.
