Averaging about 12500 steps per day which is about 9-10kms of walking. On top it 1 km swimming almost everydsy which is about 5000 steps more.
Last weekend went up and down Sinhagad (a fort near Pune) this is a 5km one way climb so a 10km trek. Add to it the path is a rocky one and totally wet and slippery due to rains. I now understand what "my legs are paining" mean:-)

Fantastic! I am planning to participate in at least 2-3 treks this season, though not as extreme as yours.

Update for last week:

#1 Weight-Control
1. Went to the gym on 5 days. Mostly 50-60 minutes each day.
3. Three days of Tshirt-wet-with-sweat kind of cardio and 2 days of weights. Loving it.

#2 Reading
1. Still on "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance". Should be able to complete in next 2-3 days.

#3 Planned 'core' work
1. About 3 hour of core work.

#4 Home-maintenance (neat-clean-tidy)
1. Good 3 hours.

Re: Reclaiming my life - one day at a time

4 sessions/days with the PT
5 sessions/days at home

I am starting to re-construct my house, so had to move to a rented place over the weekend and that has taken a toll on the back, so no exercise for the past 3 days and may be till Thursday :(

Part of reclaiming once life is being in the profession of once choice.

Not that I don't like what I do, its just that I like to be associated with alternative energy space more.

I have been 'dreaming' about starting up my own venture or join someone in the alternative energy space.

Apart from the risks these start ups don't pay well at least initially and with financial commitments, the 'dream' gets postponed, at least in my case.

My neighbor just got started on a venture and co-incidentally its related to alternative fuel, this prompted me to write this...

Re: Reclaiming my life - one day at a time

Last week was a washout, started well this week and the Physio was quite surprised that I came back after 8 days with no exercises and same amount of mobility and flexibility.

Ajit, don't want to comment about your busy work schedule, but please please please do not take chances with your health.

The following one is for everybody who is too busy to exercise:

SDP, thanks for the concern!

The culprit this time around was not my job, but me, as I had shifted my house over the past weekend and due to my back has been progressing at snail pace settling in to the new place as the shifting had stressed my back had kept away from the exercises... I am glad I am back in action now.

Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu were a wash out, however made up for it doing the exercises twice rest of the three days.

Total 20 exercises - 8 stretching and 12 strengthening - takes exactly 40 min however I play it.

SDP sir, I am literally into tears reading your post. I am so much going into this mode. I have a 1.5 months old kid. I am overweight, have Cholesterol, tending towards BP and not being able to do anything about all this (call it my laziness). My wife works too and she is too going through what I am going through. Hence I don't dump anything on her at all. We share our home-work and managing the kid.
And when I close my eyes and see myself couple of years from now, I see myself in a same situation as yours.

I didn't manage to go through all the 26 pages (call it my impatience) of this thread, but I'll make it a point to actually read all the posts to learn something from each one of you and make my and my family's life a better one.

Re: Reclaiming my life - one day at a time

Did exercises 6 times during the week on 5 days - missed two days but made up for one.

Chiropractic, is a form of medicine who work on the spine, primarily setting it back in proper position, did visit one on Sunday, I am undecided on the benefits they claim and the huge cost per session makes the question even bigger. But it seems to have helped my left thigh pain so that leaves me open...
