@SRK.

First of all, try to understand where you fit in as a designer - somebody who can develop complete new designs from scratch, or somebody who is good at modifying what is already there... If you are inclined to be the former, but currently the latter ( what i feel you are, from your posts ), a little commited hard work can surely get you through.. NID entrance exams papers (more than any other universities) are really good at judging your aptitute that way..

I would suggest you involve yourself with designs in a broader perspective, not just with cars. For example, you see an object, like your cell phone, analyze that design, see what its drawbacks are, how it can be bettered,and then implement a new design yourself... Exercises like these can really make you think differently and develop new ideas. That is what is expected of a good designer.

Next comes plotting your ideas into a tangible medium. Make sure you have a good connection between what you think and you can show. Again for this, thinnk broad, lay emphasis on scaling and depth of your designs. Personally feel designing by hand can give you an edge over working on computers, as this gives you the artistic edge as well.

Some of these websites might help you-
www.designerspace.com
www.cardesignnews.com

If you didnt get into NID or any other institute this year, dont lose hope, make sure you try harder next year... Life is awesome when you get to work on what you love.

It is hard to reach a position like foose or dc, and even harder to do it without formal education in that stream (unless you are very-very-very good). Hope you get the picture.

Would be interested to see your sketches.

@edmund-

Congratulations!!! All the best for you subsequent rounds of interviews.

rdkarthik,
Thankyou I will rty to implement what you have said here.
I want to be a designer who can design from scratch at the same time someone who can design stuff for custom cars.
That way I want to be a combination of foose and dc.
I'll try my best next time!!

Undergraduate, 4.5 years, I had to drop out of TYBA earlier this year due to inefficencies, carelessness and bad spirit of a particular open university!!!!

But yeah, the duration of the UG course will make the stream chosen very thorough and ofcourse, Fun!!!
