Not really. That solution available under ICICI bank Infinity is of hardly any use. The ICICI Virtual Card expects you to have a real world ICICI credit card in the first place. The genesis of the problem here is that many of our members do not have any credit cards to begin with. With the HDFC bank solution you do not need a card to create Netsafe cards.

Though not directly related to this case but the second problem I see with the ICICI system is that it is not really much safe if your card detail leaks out through a bad transaction. That is because they allow you to hold one and only one virtual card against your real card. They bill you for that card every month along with that for your real card.

My point is that it is then hardly any safer than using the real card. If my virtual card number leaks out somehow then the thieves can still happily go ahead and use it for various Net based transactions. So safety wise also HDFC Netsafe card is much better as they generate a new card everytime for 1-time usage.

We can not say much about a similar service from Kotak Bank as we do not have any experience with them.
