Branded dogs! Caste dogs!

I guess this is a misconception about the whole cat and mouse story made popular by tom and jerry.
Not so sure... I have certainly known mouse-catching cats, and farmers (who can only be sentimental about animals up to a point) would never allow a cat population on their farms if they did not serve this purpose. The only poor creatures my cats here ever caught were lizards.

google man > why are you delaying posting your three dogs picture is it true you own them or its in your fantacy world? by the way the charge for trimming is too high you better can get a Panasonic all in one trimmer for 2000 bugs and go on trimming your dogs yourself, as well for you, right now you get 10% festival discount for these panasonic products.

The heat from the laptop makes them comfortable to sit above it

Couple more pics of our guy who has started water sports The retriever instinct has fully kicked in. He goes nuts when he sees a river or the ocean. His paws spread out like a duck when he sees water.

He even figured out to swim ahead in the direction of the river flow to catch the stick that we throw.

Awesome, which place is this which you took?

I once took my dog to 'Siva samudra' and he was so scared He only realised he could swim when I threw him in water. He was 5 months old then, and now they are too huge for me to be able to take them so far.

Bugssy….. My little rascal

Well he is a gift to my wife for the Valentine’s Day 2010; he was just 40 days old when he came home.
Team-BHPians and their Pets-1.jpg

His favorite time pass is to sleep

He begs for food; he even has thought his cousin (pepper) on how to beg for food. He always succeeds in getting food from everyone by making all sorts for funny faces. He is very obedient only when u have food in your hand.

Now he is 7 months old, But habits die hard.
(still sleeps with his Mom).

Cute, but not good.
You should not allow the dog on your bed. This can be serious than you even understand. A lady had a miscarriage because hair was found in her stomach of her own pet.

be careful and aware. You can not help swallowing the hair if you sleep with your pet. Also, a dog should always sleep at a lower level of the master to prevent them dominate over you.

Someone who says that has probably never really loved his doggie.

Whats more, if it were true, I should have been "dominated" by mine for a pretty long time.

It depends how you define 'Love'.

However, the dog will not really start "dominating" you and demand to sit, stand and eat. It changes the behaviour for sure. Specially if you have aggressive breeds.

Letting pets sleep at a level lower than a master, always taking them out with a leash, giving them food after/before the master not with the master are some of the basics one should know before keeping a pet dog. Most People who don't do these start giving their dogs for adoptions or leave them on streets.

Here is a poetry written by a ameture, but makes lots of sense :

My family brought me home cradled in their arms.
They cuddled me and smiled at me and said I was full of charm.
They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys.
I sure do love my family, especially the little girls and boys.
The children loved to feed me; they gave me special treats.
They even let me sleep with them – all snuggled in the sheets.
I used to go for walks, often several times a day.
They even fought to hold the leash, I’m very proud to say.

These are the things I’ll not forget – a cherished memory.
I now live in the shelter – without my family.
They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe.
But I didn’t know the difference between the old one and the new.

The kids and I would grab a rag, for hours we would tug.
So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bedroom rug.
They said that I was out of control and would have to live outside.
This I didn’t understand, although I tried and tried.

The walks stopped, one by one; they said they hadn’t time.
I wish that I could change things; I wish I knew my crime.
My life became so lonely in the backyard, on a chain.
I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane.

So they brought me to the shelter but were embarrassed to say why.
They said I caused an allergy, and then they each kissed me goodbye.
If I’d only had some training as a little pup.
I wouldn’t have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up.

“You only have one day left”,
I heard the worker say.
Does that mean I have a second chance?
Do I go home today?

Hi, all my Dogs have been sleeping with the same bed as me. Have no issues with them till now, apart from small fights for the pillow .

A person can inhale the pets hair even though if the pets sleeps on the floor, so just making it sleep at a lower level will not eliminate the problem.

Well, I have flouted all those tenets above and haven't regretted it. And yes my doggie had quite a short fuse and could get quite aggressive. But funnily it was almost never directed at me. Even if he was pissed off at me (so to speak) he would likely go attack/bite the next nearest person rather than me. Had been in few real tight spots when there was bloodshed (literally!) that way...

Whatever it was, I'd never agree to keep him the way you described. Still, I can somewhat understand what you say as there are different dog lovers, different dogs and different situations. Possibly some dogs may have to be treated bit differently than what I did mine. But then as they say - there are no problem dogs. Only problem "masters".

Btw, that poem was... morbid... :(
