Loss of family..

Folks,

A few months ago, on this thread, I had posted a thing or two about our family dog -Sarja ; a true German Shepherd (He was a KCI registered fellow)

After being ill for the last 2.5 weeks, we lost Sarja on Saturday at 5.25am.
He fought bravely through the night but did not make it.

Sarja spent a good 8.5yrs with us.

His death was untimely and very very unfortunate.

We are all grieved for the loss of a family member. :(

Sometimes I wonder - its easy to control a situation, or rather understand the problems and sort them out, when it comes to our cars.
Because they are machines.

But in the case of Sarja I found myself helpless - a sheer spectator ! We tried everything, got opinions from 4 Vets. I saw him slip away, and I could do nothing.

Life's so precious..
and beyond our control..

@Monaro, sorry to hear that. Something many of us have been through and we can understand your pain.

If you can, please bring home another baby. It will help you all ..

Re: Team-BHPians and their pets

what happened?
8.5 years?

wait , scrap that, dont answer, it just stings even more.
Was he your first dog?

I've owned dogs all my life, since i was 4.
In that time you come to terms with the scientific gyaan behind life expectancy and so on, but it hurts everytime.
I hope you come to terms with the loss soon.
Really really sad to hear about this.

Re:

Thanks guys for the support.

I'm still coming to terms accepting the early exit of our beloved pet, who was a perfect family dog.

We all are here for the love of our pets and do understand in all probabilities their average estimated life terms.

We expected his company at least till 10yrs+. But destiny had other plans.

The thing with these real breeds is the Indian Climate. I think that's what go to him.

Sarja has been the 2nd dog (in succession) in the house, but the personality he had won him our ultimate affection and longing.

In real terms, he's been, a man's best friend!

RIP Sarja..

Monaro, so sad. These animals are our family members.

Frankly, nothing helps much, except time --- and time, eventually, cures most things, even bereavement.

My WATER KINGDOMS:

1. Fighter Fish breeding tank. This is where these notorious "FIGHTER'S" are born. Circled are the new borns. About two-three weeks old:

2. The follow up tanks. The marked are the ones born in adjacent tank:

In 100% cases I gift them to everyone/anyone, who is interested, along with a 4" bowl.
Total gift cost Rs 40-50.
Happiness: PRICELESS

There are about 8 new borns in that tank, but micoscopic in size for camera to catch them.
The tank is dirty because I cannot risk cleaning the tank as I may end up scooping the kiddos too.

So if anyone is looking for HASSLE FREE fish, pls do let me know.
Unfortunately I can only offer "PICKUP" / "DROP" facility.

Re: Team-BHPians and their pets

Some more of my tanks. Have lost the count now:

The largest of ALL. I earlier had sharks in this tank & thus had to get it reinforced to stand their eccentrics:

I usually dont buy acrylic tanks but this one is actually made of GLASS. Got it as an award from my society who think I do everything except a proper job.

My "AGENTS". They were the size of 2 rupee coin when I had got them:

Re: Team-BHPians and their pets

hi folks,
just went through this thread as we are looking for a pet for our family, and after looking around at various breeds we have come to a consensus that a perfect pet for our house would be a male lab pup around 1-2 months old.

Now after deciding this i went on the net and searched few sites but i felt their pricing quite high, i went through a few contacts who referred me to adoption, but was shocked by horror stories of people giving away their sick pets for adoption, i mean no one would want to bring home a pet and go through the painful process of loosing one due to some illness.

I am here cause i totally trust people here and know they wont misguide me as it would be our first pet, therefore i would request friends here in and around mumbai to let me know if they know some good & reliable place for pet adoption or i even dont mind paying a reasonable price for a healthy pet. please pm me
thanks & cheers
