Good day,

Ace.
Thanks for checking, Ace !!

The survivor has got not 1 but 3 companions now. We got him a female companion and a pair as well. He has mixed well with the group and creates quite a racket.

We have moved them to a bigger bird house as well, so that they are not constrained on space.

Will click the pics and post shortly.

How is the birdie at home doing ?

You can search for east end Apartments group on facebook, I quoted in my last post above, I think. It's an open group of whiners.

The group has been taken down now. Within a couple of days these guys are gonna face strict action as per the Law.

Thanks for sharing the snapshot here, otherwise I don't know what would have happened.

Love for animals, people go beyond the way they can. It is like an underworld, people working day and night trying to save animals, huge network than we can imagine. I am sitting in the US but within few hours this was possible through few contacts. The matter has gone to commissioner and these fools have done a mistake by writing everything which is being used as evidence. God save them if even 1 dog is killed or hurt.

Do you stay in that apartment?

Would you be able to help incase required? Help as in just informing me of any internal plan of doing something about the dogs. Untill action is taken, want to ensure they just dont just kill the dogs.

I will. I already keep an eye out. And during the time I'm at office, my wife gets to know.
There's about 10-15 of us who have been acting against this, and someone is always in the know.
Thanks, man.

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

We have a rabbit as a pet. Tintin is more than a year old now; hybrid rabbits live for 7-8 years. My wife feeds him 90% of the time and he trusts her completely.
If she goes out and comes back after a few hours, she gets a resounding welcome. With no vocal chords to make sounds, he shows his appreciation by running circles around her - clockwise and anticlockwise. He then nibbles her anklet (payal) and then looks up. And it is not for food. It is pure show of happiness for the next 15 minutes; even, the most favourite coriander leaves are ignored!
Apart from coriander leaves, he loves idlis and dosas (no sambar yet!). Some days, when my wife gives chapatis, he pauses and looks quizzically at her, as if asking, no rice today? Talk about a south Indian rabbit!

You can also find PFA city wise with contact details.
Facebook is also a great place to find Animal rescue center in your city.

In Mumbai I think there is Karuna http://www.karunaforanimals.org/

Karuna does have a dedicated call center to report of animals who need help.
I use to frequently call them for injured stray on roads, and just report of location with near by business for reference. This is year 2006 and they had a mobile van, which use to come. They did help, but stray in accidents are sometimes difficult.
They are nice, and one can always help them with volunteering or donation.

I never made a donation or volunteered, still they always valued and ready to my or any SOS call.

Attached are snapshot of both website, to attract you all to visit their sites.

Also Bombay Natural History Society http://bnhs.org/bnhs/
You can become a member by paying fee and then you are a proud member of this organization, with updates via post mail all over India.

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Except when he cuts wires and eats edges of walls! I have lost quite a few phone chargers; luckily it was not on charging then. He jumps on to the bed or the side table and loves to bites on wires, ropes, anything.

He will calm down after 2 years and will probably be less of a menace. Call it the teenage restlessness!

Oh yes! I had forgotten the bad habits of rabbits! It is nearly fifty years since my mother kept them. She even had one that would accompany her on a lead. She was a little famous for her, ahem, eccentricities!
