My second son

I nearly weapt reading your post, that I stumbled upon today.. My family and I too had pets for long. Tiger came into my life 10 months after my first son Anshu was born in 1988. He was my second child. My third a daughter was born 3 years later.

I can understand your feeling since Tiger passed away at 2 in the night in 1999 on my lap constantly looking at me. I still cannot relive that scene nor my family can.

Since then we decided not to keep one...Tiger is still with us....

That was the worst feeling in the world. I know you other animal lovers out there will know what I'm talking about.

My 'Woof-ers' :)

Wow, all of you guys have really cute pets. Its so nice to know that there are so many people who take the time and initiative to care for all these beautiful animals. I am too much of an animal lover, just cannot tolerate the sight of someone causing any harm to one, and hugely respect those that love and take care of them.

The recent slaughter of dogs in China was deeply sorrowing. I just cannot imagine how you can kill a dog. One look into their beautiful eyes must actually turn back a human with a heart. I'm sure some of the dogs that were brutally beaten to death must have actually wagged their tails and approached the heartless murderers not knowing what would befall them.

Here are 2 of my 3 darlings. One is my Doberman bitch, 9 yrs old. The second is a pug, just over a year old, that I gifted my girlfriend. The third, not pictured, is a black Lab. The Doberman's name is 'Valentine', the Pug's 'Hutch'.

Valentine

Hutch

I would say that they would have sensed what's coming up, that something's wrong. Any one who would have cared to look would have seen the fear in their eyes.

I am not sure about St. Bernards, but when in China, I was told by my friends there that there are a lot of Chinese restaurants there that serve dogs. Of course, I wouldn't have the courage to even wander near one. The Chinese stray dogs were very beautiful. Here are a few pics of them. Maybe they are still alive, since I dont think they are from the provinces where the murderous acts were committed.

I dont think this was a stray, its coat seemed trimmed.

Guys,
Its real cool to read about all the petrolheads going all soppy about their pets.
I currently have a 2 year old lab, Kuppuswamy, who we take out as often as possible in the Innova (real pain to clean the hair out after though). All you need to do is open the door and he's in, in a flash.
Yet to take him out in our new Reva (will post pics when I do).
Maybe we can start a new thread on how all you dog lovers out there manage to clean your cars of dog hair.
