My wife who is in Chennai currently is supposed to go to beach along with her friends today and they cancelled it after they felt the quake. The magnitude is 2.3 as per the local news.

On the same lines, my brothers in-laws who are staying at Srikakulam also felt the quake and per them the magnitude is more. They have evacuated the entire apartment as a safety norm.

Earthquake felt at Dhaka

I felt the quake at Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was mild here.
We evacuated the office, though.
Just realized that it was massive at Indonesia.

re: Earthquake in Indonesia, Felt in India: 11-Apr-2012

Update from me and my near ones here in Bangalore:

Bommanahalli - between 2;15 and 2:20 PM IST - I felt my chair shaking for about 5-8 seconds (gentle rocking, as if in a trance). 10-15 seconds later, it happened again and I noticed the water in the bottle shaking mildly (remember Jurrasic Park?)

Near Silk Board - checked with my wife. People felt it there too.

Checked near Shopper's Stop, Bannerghatta Road - People felt it there too.

Checked at Electronic City - People felt it there too.

Checked in Mangalore - Felt there too.

Hoping and Praying, all is well in Indonesia and other areas.

Thanks,
C_

re: Earthquake in Indonesia, Felt in India: 11-Apr-2012

I didn't feel a thing but was walking out of my office for lunch and saw a group of employees looking up at the building. I was on a call and was wondering what they were upto and looked up myself... only to see a big bee hive.

A few mins later the guy on the phone told me it was an earthquake and thats when i realized why so many people were outside and looking confused.
