The World's Greatest Driving Road

hi ALL

recently i browse one website, got in touch with one article.

like to share it with you guys.

this is from article itself

The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the greatest driving road in the world. Stretching for 7.3 miles and climbing nearly 4,000 feet, it boasts 60 corners and a surface so smooth that it would flatter a racetrack. It could easily be described as the eighth wonder of the world, but almost nothing is known about its creation.

The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road must have cost $100 million to build, but its origins remain shrouded in mystery. You can buy an enormous guidebook detailing the hydrogeology of the local spring, or the DNA of the resident butterflies, but info on the road itself is almost impossible to find.

here is a website link:

thanx . . .BOB

note: MODS help me if i'm wrong somewhere.

See my BHP Garage - the Mondy pics were taken on the road and at the top. Its a good road and a nice drive, but I didnt think it was awesome enough to be described as the greatest driving road in the WORLD. In the U.A.E, yes.

And funnily enough, Jabal Hafeet is claimed to be 2,500 ft high.

Since the topic touches on roads just wanted to share a few pics of the road which goes under water just so that ships, boats and ferries can travel from the top, something like an underwater bridge. As far as i recall its between Denmark and Sweden correct me if i am wrong. But i am sure it would be fun driving through this strech too !

Safe,
Ash

Ok...Googled n found out this is Jebel hafeet Road in UAE...

The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road extends for 7.3 mi (11.7 km) up the mountain, rising 4000 ft (1219 m). With 60 corners and three lanes (two climbing and one descending), the immaculate road was called the greatest driving road in the world by Edmunds.com. The road scales the mountain and ends at a parking lot with only a hotel and a palace belonging to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
