Short Film: Lamborghini Bosozoku - Underground Hero: Love To Hate Me

This won accolades at the London Motor Film Festival. Sharing here for members to enjoy.

Meet Moroshi-San, a Lamborghini enthusiast, speed demon and member of the notorious Japanese Yakuza. Through the lens of Luke Huxham and his mini-documentary Underground Hero: Love To Hate Me, we take a look at the underground automotive culture reaped by some of Japan’s most dangerous drivers. Cutting just short of eight minutes, the documentary not only showcases the stunning cars shredding the city, wildly tricked out with neon chassis lighting, but also delves in to Moroshi-san’s first encounter with a Lamborghini Countach, childhood disobedience, and what he describes as the “grey” area of his work. As he would originally bousou (hoon) as a biker, the video pays significant attention to Japan’s Bosozoku riders, showcasing the bikers on heavily modified Honda and Suzuki bikes.

F1 : In a time before time...

It's amazing how minimalist the cars are, looks like a Tie Interceptor from behind !

There's nothing cooler than watching an engine being put together...

Documentary on Buggatti's engineering marvels. A delightful watch -

Science and technology has no limits, really! Check out the http://www.bloodhoundssc.com/project/car project. This will be the fastest set of wheels (~1600kph) , once ready. The website has all the technical details and latest news/status on the project. It is basically a rocket moving horizontally, on ground

Not sure if this is the right thread, dear Mods. If not, kindly do help merge with the appropriate one.

International Car promotional ad videos/films from before the internet happened

Found this interesting and worth sharing article on how cars were promoted before the 'world wide web' and social media happened.
Share more similar videos you come across.
More videos here at the source link: http://drivercult.com/2015/10/nostal...dnt-even-need/
Excerpts-
"Our's is an era, that's almost completely overcome by technology and internet. In fact, Internet has woven itself so intricately into our lives, that doing something new, without it's participation is un-fathomable. To us auto enthusiasts, it is really important that all relevant automobile data is available off the internet, be it new launches or even sightings and spy shots of upcoming machines. But ever stop to wonder, how difficult it must have been to showcase a car, back in the nostalgic era of midriff hugging pants, VHS tapes and full length soap operas running on radios?
Well, back in those days, some of the manufacturers had to belt out such long feature movies of cars upon it's release, that it'd put mainstream cinemas to shame. It was an arduous task to garner the attention of the end user then, against now, where one can simply shoot a video from a phone camera and upload it on to YouTube or the likes. Today, we have a list of promo videos for you, of cars that probably didn't need such lengthy intros, anyway. We've kept the list short and simple, beginning with the longest video in the list, to the shortest."

Jaguar XJ220- Let's start off with the Jaguar XJ220. This promo video is whopping one hour long. There's a reason behind it too. This Jag had a very unconventional supercar design back then. The video, titled "The Official Story", starts of with a quick introduction, to it's interiors and instrument panels, with a surprising push-button start mechanism, that's almost a norm now. Through this long and unstable picture quality, Jaguar tries it's best to explain the concept of the car and why one should rush to the showrooms to get one. The Jaguar Xj220, didn't set the cash registers ringing, in-spite of this video and promotions.

Ferrari F40- The Ferrari F40, which was designed with aerodynamics in mind, is next in the list. What? A Ferrari needing a promo video? Well, Why not? It definitely didn't want to leave any stone un-turned. The Ferrari F40 is a mid-engine, rear-wheel driven, two-door coupé sports car, that was assembled in Maranello, Italy. It was an outright success and sold a 1000 pieces and still has a cult following. The 15 minute video, starts with the car's specifications, then takes us on a backdrop, that'd remind you of a "B" grade mafia movie. What's more, the video features the legend, Mr.Enzo Ferrari, himself.

McLaren F1- Next on the list, is the Mc Laren's F1. The 9 minute video, has the car attaining speeds of 241 mph. The driver is talking all the while. The most interesting aspect of the F1, was it's unconventional 3 seat layout. The diver's seat was in the middle of the car, in tandem with a race car design, with two passenger seats behind it. The car's low weight and high power concept, was attained via off-beat construction elements, such as carbon fibre, titanium, gold, magnesium and Kevlar. But did it need such a video for it's sales? Not for the beautiful piece of engineering it is!

Porsche 928- Next up, is Porsche's 928. The video is just north of 20 minutes. It talks of the process, which goes into making the car. The 928, which looks nothing like the sightly Porsche line now, had it's video shot, with an obvious budgetary constraint. Porsche aimed to make it appealing to the end-user, by giving them a first-hand feel, of the car's architecture.

Porsche 993- Following up the 928, is the Porsche's 993. The obvious evolution in design and lines, is clear from this video, which is just seconds shy of a 20 minute running time. One of the highlights here, is Jerry Sienfeld talking about the car's facets, in his trademark high-squeak voice, that we've come to know and love. You get to see the 993 drift and ride in the glistening sun, all of which may not have been this necessary, considering that 993 was a sought after car.
