The new Skoda superb spot, punching above your weight?
Just brilliant, but wish Skoda had a better car to go with it, not a D saloon.

and their tagline is "Best in NEXT Segment".
Does that mean Superb is not competent in her niche segment.

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements on TV

During World T20 there are equal no. of ads that too one after another being telecast of amazon and flipkart even highlighting the similar aspect, easy return of goods received.

All this reminds me of cut-throat ads we used to see for Coke Pepsi and mobile network companies few years back.

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements on TV

During the T20 matches, one Levis ad particularly offended me.

There is one lady, who says "All women are naturally bad***". It hurts too much.

How can you say something like this about all women. We had a woman prime minister, our culture worships woman Gods (Devi Mata).

No media protested against the sentence.

Bad***: 1. a tough, uncompromising, or intimidating person.
What's the kerfuffle about?

Also, did you notice the Verna overtaking a white Honda City while on the move? clear indication of where they are feeling the heat from!
And if the ad would've been of a German, would have understood. But a Hyundai Verna ad about road behaviour and stability? They could have shown the lady being wowed by the featues instead.

Came across this TVC from Milton about their Leak Proof Lunchboxes.

This has to be the most irresponsible road behavior ad out there currently:

+1. This ad should be banned to say the least. How come such big companies approve such ideas.

BTW I have a friend who related himself to ad while watching it and i also know there would be hundreds of others like him. And they are all so proud.

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements on TV

Drove a new Verna and a city both with auto boxes extensively over two days a couple of weeks ago. In the city and semi urban areas at sane speeds the advert is not too much off the mark as long as we restrict ourselves to the two brands.

The recent AD for Mahindra GUSTO. The slow mo and the bride and the lover, the punch delivered about instant, increased power! I liked it! But our channel wallahs killed the freshness by telecasting it every 4,5 minutes

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements on TV

The Airtel 4G ads with that 4G girl (tomboy) HAS to be the most annoying set of ads currently being aired in Indian Television.

Apparently, she is the currently the highest paid non-celebrity actors in the ad world.

The Vodafone ads with the pug were so much nicer & conveyed the same message.

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements on TV

A channel will show an advertisement as many times as the advertiser/their marketing agency want it to be telecast and are paying the channel for the air time.

The channel as no say in the matter

Yes, the adverts are getting a bit long and Vodafone's pug was cuter however in the real World Airtel does a much nicer job of complaint resolution whereas Vodafone is simply annoying and rides rough shod over customer complaints.
