Doesn't all the cars comes with rear seat belts now (probably from a long time too)? Even Maruti 800 comes with rear seat belts.

I have a second hand Zen (2002). It was not compulsory to have rear seat belts then.

I did not like the new VW ad, with the Kid selecting his Birthday Gifts. I guess it has been copied from some other car manufacturers ad. correct me

Its funny that somebody (our member) from Delhi or NCR was whisked away from a dealership. I dunno it was about VW or something else, he has written his memoir somewhere.

BTW
I hate the BSNL 3G ads.

The new SX4 ad is pure crap!

Tried to source that one and found this,

Pretty decent and look where the inspiration for the Xylo ad came from

It's a copy of another German car Co's ad viz. Porsche.
The funniest parts in the ad are when the kid says he wants a Jetta & a Passat once he becomes Vice-President & CEO respectively!
At least they could have shown the Phaeton.

Bad research by the ad-film team or whosoever concerned to have copied the concept. Probably they did not realise that global Indians today have access to overseas ads too. :P

Copy cat - VW (concept from Porche)

Irresponsible - the new Maruti SX4 advt. (cutting on a sharp turn, cutting thru traffic and promoting "me first" attitude; as if we did not have that already!!!)

Clueless - HP petrol advt with Sania in a i10. Wonder where in India does one drive an i10 to get so much of dirt! And wonder wonder which HP pump does body wash???

^^^
Them company selecting their brand ambassador is beyond my imagination.

Sharukh (and Sania)- Hyundai- He never talks below a Beemer. And claims to be a santro wala.

John- Yamaha- He never dreams below Hyabusa.

Etc etc.

I liked the new Vodafone pay per second ads. Nice concept. Delivers the message in a simple way. These ads are a lot better than those crap Idea 'Walk when you talk' & Docomo 'Friendship Express' ads

btw, I don't see any Airtel mobile ads on TV anymore. Is it just me or has somebody also observed this?

SO this means they will continue the same Jetta and Passat for the next 20 odd years (till the kid becomes a CEO) ????

Was thinking the same!
VW is not planning any changes in the cars at all for the next 20 years and there will be no more new models!!
Equivalent to me saying at "When I become a consultant doctor I will buy this Ambassador" 20 years ago!!!

About the ad. Is there an attempt by the showroom guy to behave like a German Military guy with no emotions / feelings or is he just a bad actor?

The ad has great shots of the Jetta and Passat but falls plonk in trying to stir any emotional quotient in viewers!

But the worst advt might be that cadbury's advt in which they sing "aaj pehli tarik hai....." man cannot resist to see who the maker of the advt is and that too this is played during first week of every month..and still the worst would be all the advt which are translated to their regional language and aired. The person in the advt will be speaking something and these guys will be singing something. No lip sync. Too much to handle
