That said, I think the ad is a bit dishonest as I don't think the video on an Iphone would be as shown in the ad ( I think there will be the black strips on the top and bottom of the phone while watching video due to the weird aspect ratio of the Iphone screen ).
Yeah, everything is fine if only the ad were from Apple, I wonder why airtel spent so much to advertise an iPhone? LOL!

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

2 worst ads:

1) New A-star ad - Girl keeps a spare BF in the boot!
2) Almost all AK ads are horrible - Recent phone ad has his wife and his voice at the end....What a horrible sound!

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

The recent A-Star advertisement is wrong on so many accounts:
1. Making fun of shortcomings of your own product. There is no way a 6 foot tall grown man can be concealed in the boot space of A-Star (even with the stepney removed).
2. Even if it was possible to conceal a man in the boot, it is very unsafe. Such bad practices should not be advocated in an advertisement from a reputed and responsible car company.
3. The advertisement is suggesting that women who drive A-Star are unfaithful to their partners. There goes any hope of any woman buying A-Star after this advertisement.

Whoever is in-charge of Maruti's advertisements in the recent times deserves to be fired (at).

I really like the spoof of the make-it-large series of advertisements. A Harbhajan lookalike was passionately narrating his make-it-large story, when his father enters and scolds him in typical Punjabi accent - Khote de puttar, kya make-it-large ? Ball-bearing banaane thea, bomb ke gole banaa diye.

This Lava mobile phone ad comes as a nice change after their ridiculous "Sorry, no change" ad.

Cheers,

Another new bad ad: the Mentos Watermelon one

A guy creates a workaround for a helmet by designing a contraption from a watermelon. When he moves further, a few traffic cops just stare at him.

Really, what are they trying to say? I wish that watermelon squashes on his head itself.

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

Well Akshay is back with his just-look-n-puke Micromax ad. Dentist? Bluetooth? Please give me a break!

Did anyone get that recent Rediff Shopping ad? The ad starts off with a guy bathing in a tub and it then transpires into nonsense ad infinitum! I couldn't get a thing off that ad!

Dumb ad. It makes us realise that there is a fine line between innocent and dumb.

Another stupid ad.

I feel bad for the kids who are made to perform in such ludicrous ads, though.

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

i really liked the Green Lam ply wood ad. The song is also so relevant.

I so much want to die like that man one day. 'A very happy man'.

PS:This ad is also so close to my heart as my Uncle died in a similar way three months ago.

+2 to that. Many ads featuring kids are like that. Esp those dealing with washing powder/detergents.

When he says ".. toh maine isiko haath de diya.." It just rolled off once from my tounge, "Thank goodness, mom dande se kapde nahi dhoti."

And then there are these toothpaste ads (along with my answers to them, fellow members, think and post more Qs and As),-

1. kya aapke toothpaste me namak hai?
Haan, laal mirch aur garam masala bhi hai, Chahiye?

2. Kya aapko malum hai, appke munh me germs hain?
Munh me germs nahi toh kya haathi milega?

3. Ghar me xpert nahi ha kya? (madhuri dixit with dishwash soap)
Hota toh tujhe (bai ko) kyun bulate?

4. Hamara daanton ki raksha kaun karta hai?
Beta, koi aur nahi aata, khud kulla datun karo.
