Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

@Jayabusa and Cpyder,
I am fully with you both on Surf's ad campaigns.
For that matter all Surf Excel ads are like that. Even their tagline - Daag Achchaa Hai! is sure misleading the kids.
Does these ads not induce kids to carelessly play with all kind of dirt and mud and chemicals - shown so exaggerated in these ads - not knowing what could happen to their health and hygiene? That Sack-mock race and even the Teacher's lost puppy - All of those ads are definitely not teaching hygenic habits to kids, but just the opposite. That way, even toothpaste makers should say "Germs achchaa hai" and toilet cleaners should say "_____ Achchaaa Hai".!!!

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

At the moment —

Worst ad (s): Both the Reliance 3G ads featuring the kid singing poetry and the dudette singing a song. Its creepy, like nails on a blackboard.

Best ad: Amaron battey with silver blah blah. The lucky guy who defies death while he is carrying the battery and is battered with ill-fate the moment he hands over the battery. Superb!!! ("Silver ting, silver tong!")

^^ Huh, you forgot latest A-star ad series; all are horrible ads. I think Maruti needs take help of Tata to make ads, Tata may take some help to improve their A.S.S in return :-)

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

For me the worst ad I've seen till date happens to be the Xylo "Happy Legs", God knows what the ad guy was focusing on Car or something else ? Pathetic ad I must say. Maruti of late have been coming up with pretty good advertisements.

Spike

PS- Thar TVC, I'm told has come out pretty well.

IMHO, the Xylo advertisement does covey the USP of the MUV - legs are happy in a Xylo, even in the last row, even for tall people. Not a remarkable advertisement, but still convincing.

OTOH, I find the recent Maruti A-Star advertisements to be completely crappy and desperate. There is no mention of the car or its USP anywhere, just using good looking models to make the car look cool.

1. One girl dropping off her boy friend in her A-Star while "carrying" another boy friend as a "stepny" in the boot - totally crappy and irresponsible advertisement.

2. One boy dropping a girl to her house in A-Star. He gets "automatically" invited inside the girl's house because he is driving an AT car - really desperate and pointless advertisement.

3. One guy driving rash inside the hospital building and off dropping off his hot "sisters" (pun intended ) in the hospital. How is that a car pool ?

4. One newly married copule getting cosy in the front seats even when an elderly is occupying the rear seat. The elderly person reading the newspaper is distracted by opening the rear window by operating the power window switch from the driver's side - big deal. Is A-Star the only car which comes with power windows ? What exactly is the point they are trying to convey ?

Re: The BEST & the WORST Advertisements on TV

I like the new new Vodafone ad about the balance transfer facility.

Have always disliked the Idea Cellular ads, but the latest 3G one has no logic whatsoever. Whats with Idea 3G helping in population control, huh?

I quite like both the ads - they get the message across nicely.

Another entry into the WORST ads category - the Salman Khan ad about some battery - power ka chakkar or something...YUCK !

I would agree. When I saw the ad for the first time, I thought, since its pouring heaving outside, my TATA Sky is playing games!
