Autocard Points Redeemed

I recently had a very pleasant experience with Maruti and would like to share it on the Forum. And since it is also related to Autocard, I think it belongs to this thread to some extent.
I have a Jan 2007 Alto Lx and along came this Autocard. I was always skeptical about its benefits but still used it a lot as a normal credit card. Over the period of 2.5 yrs, I had accumulated about 2K points on it. I always doubted if they'd let me use them without any conditions. So, recently I gave my car for a 20K km service at Millineum Mobility's Dapodi workshop in Pune. I also had a couple of coupons from Millenium Mobility when I renewed insurance with them - each worth Rs 500 / with 6 month and 12 month validity resp.
At the time of servicing I also made insuarnce claims of about 7k. Service bill was 3.5 k.
I had not informed them of my intentions of using the coupons and Auto points for payment.
When I went to pick my car, on the payment counter I presented the two coupons. They readily accepted them, one against body shop bill and other against service bill - no fuss for using them together. The two bill dates differed by a day only.
On top of all this, I presented my Autocard for points redemption - this one accepted too ; no excuses given for disallowing clubbing of offers.
So, in the end I ended up paying just 1300 bucks against the total bill of 10.5 k - rest covered in insurance.
Points and coupons combined discount was 3.5 K.
At the end what I felt is that it was not a Marketing Gimmick - they honoured their promise. Of course, they didnt inflate the bills as theyy were not told about my intentions.
At the end of the day Ieft the workshop pretty happy with a thought in my mind to use this card more often.
cheers.

Do you guys keep track of Autocard reward points (i.e. whether it tallies
with the Maruti promise)? I recently noticed that for my Maruti Insurance
renewal I got just 1% reward points. Maruti promise was 3%. Citibank
says this 1% came from the "Citibank pouch". The rest should come from
"Maruti pouch". It doesn't appear on my statement. Maruti says contact
dealer. Dealer says contact Maruti. How nice!

Tata has been a step ahead in this case. Empower Card by Tata Motors is a free loyalty card for all new Tata customers. Agreed, It is not a credit card like Maruti Autocard but the benefits are massive like:
1. Discounts at Taj / Gateway Hotels and Restaurants
2. Invitations to events
3. Loyalty points for air travel in Jet Airways / Kingfisher Airlines
4. Loyalty points at World of Titan.
5. Loyalty points at Westside / Croma Stores
6. Points can be reddemed against next purchase / service of car.

There are three categories in the card. Indica Club, Indigo Club and Safari Club with owners of Tata Safari enjoying maximum benefits.
