Re: First man on moon Neil Armstrong dead at 82 Although most us here are unaware of the enormity of the feat in 69, I have met up with a lot of my family and friends' folks to get a guage on how it was to have been sentient around that time.
Utter Icon.
I read a long time ago in RD (when RD was RD), an anecdote.
It was about a group of tourists in a bus somewhere in a desert in the US, and the moon was bright and big. The ladies were fascinated and kept oohing--aahing over it.
One of them asks here husband, "You would take me to the moon?". He says,as most husbands would, "of course honey. when I have made XXX amount of money, I would."
And a voice chirped up from the rear of the bus, " And if you do, why dont you drop in for a spot of coffee at my place?"...........guess who!!
RIP, original moonwalker. |
