Lancer Spares Needed (Bombay)

Hi,

I was looking for Spares for my Mitsubishi Lancer in Bombay, & the dealers insisted that I bring in the car & refused to sell any over the counter.

While I agree that it may be better to take it into their workshop, their costs & delivery periods are prohibitive, & I wouldn't want to get into any discussions / arguments about whether it's good or not.

Does anyone know of a good source for original or good quality spares?

I'm currently looking for the suspension bushings, etc., but a good source would be to vital to have in the future for all spares. Parts people I know generally have Delhi spares of a suspect quality.

Thanks.

Elf, go to Metro Motors and look for a guy named Prabhu. We used to get our Lancer fixed by him under the table, at a much lower cost.

Thanks.

Sounds good for a one-off purchase. Know any place I can get a bill, etc? Am looking for a long-term supplier.

Thanks Rehaan.

Shall check it out - am planning to go to Laxman Motors as well.

I figured that if there are so many Lancer owners on the forum, there'd be a glut of stores.

Revvhead, you cockroach!

I'm doing some homework by looking for a spare parts supplier - quit the snide comments & concentrate on fitting yourself in your car. Besides which, vehicle maintenance is not something you girls would understand.

Weren't you the one standing in the middle of the road coz you ran outta gas? Flagging down passing cabbies... "Driverjee, hamaara gaari kharaab ho gaya. Pleeeese thora help karo naa"! Hahaha!

When do you want to go carting? Should do this soon, before you go back to running your cruise ship beauty parlour.

Now either give me a spares supplier or go bug someone else, Lucy.

Oi Chameli! I presume the rattle & hum you refer to was my old 15 year old, modded, rusted, Esteem... it still had less NVH issues than your Baloney sandwich the day yours left the deli. (I'd say showroom, but whoever heard of Baloney sandwiches coming outta showrooms).

Besides which, what vehicle maintenance you talking about? If something goes wrong with your Baloney, you simply add or remove more bread.

Thanks for the Sam tip. I'll now bug him for car parts as well.

By the way, did you either fix your sound system or paint the ochre yellow stripe around the car & below the beltline your Baloney? If it sounds like a rickshaw, might as well make it look like one!

Now go away & bother somebody else - this is a serious thread.
