Hey nice to have our forum mentioned in TOI. If I recall correctly, Yatish Survana (who wrote this article) used to work for Chip-India (the computer magazine) and is himself a big automobile fan. In fact I faintly remember him writing that it would be easier to choose between fancy cars rather than choosing the best motherboards (on a comparison test bench)!

I suspect he is a pretty active member here.

Cheers!

nice article. proud to be a Teab-BHPian. getting mentioned in the second page in toi means we will see a lot more new members soon. although they seem to think that the lamborghini murcielago is available in only barachetta form.

Great going,

The day wont be far when people wont buy cars with out getting the experts opinion from this website.

This might become more powerful than the consumer court, b'cos this will mean more publicity (postive or negative either way)

In the board meetings of Maruti/Hyundai/Tata the discussions will be like this.

+ Team-BHP has published our Ambassadors faulty gearbox problem, what do we do now? Total recall of all models will be the only solution...

+ Team-BHP think Baleno's rear is ugly, lets bring out the modified rear, that might improve our sales...

+ Team-BHP thinks NHC is too underpowered, lets increase its power to 100 BHP.

+ Team-BHP says "Protest against tata motors" lets do some damage control before this gets out of hands.

Infinite possibilities.....

Good for the indian automobile fans....
This one was cool!! Keep it up TBHP!! congarts to us all!

way to got team-bhp, the article felt like one of those coming up bollywodd scripts though, with things like pink slips, losing cars/bikes, one on one races being the favourite, e.t.c lol

manson.

this is good news. good to know that the forum is going places. first the jbl ads, and now the print media; great.

regarding that 170 bhp swift; i suspect it's the red one done up by leelakrishnan. or it could be the black one displayed by OD in their stalls at the auto expo. in either case, both swifts are boosted, with high-lift profiled cams, forged pistons, con-rods, re-done ECM, etc. no stock parts there, except for the block. and yeah, the acceleration figures COULD be true, considering the fact that the 1.6 litre, 125 bhp swift sport manages 0-100 in about 8 seconds or thereabouts. but i SERIOUSLY doubt the top whack; 240 kmph ain't no peanuts- perhaps around 210-220, but not 240+....i'll need to see the car myself, before i believe THAT....

and as for the article itslef; well, this would have to be the first one that i've seen with MINIMAL errors...except for the part about that 3-crore maybach; or is he aware about some 2-crore discounts that we aren't....?
