Came across this article in today's TOI Bangalore edition and felt the need to share the same on this forum.

Though the article focuses on shutterbugs taking their vehicles and damaging the already dying lake beds, I believe this serves as a eye opener to all 4X4 enthusiasts as well who take their machines mindlessly on these lake beds that supports a very fragile ecosystem.

Read the article and it's really an ey-opener if what is reported is true. Sad to see that nature photographers themselves are actually harming the nature. Hope that people become more sensitive towards nature and stop these unethical practices. And even we at TBHP are also to take part of the blame as many TBHP meet/shoot happened in and around that place. Probably they've done it unknowingly before but now I think it's time to put a full-stop to such activities which can cause harm to fragile eco-system such as this.
