Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I use Airtel 4Mbps UL plan for 1399 with no FUP. They recently hiked the charges to 1500+ taxes. I am looking to change the provider.

BSNL wired broadband with unlimited usage and at Rs 700 per month. The wire goes to the wireless router. Internet is shared by a desktop, 2 laptops & a phone (not all will be used at the same time).

Airtel has recently launched new high speed plans. Just upgraded to 8 mbps (60GB FUP) and 1000 min local talk time plan for Rs.1250.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I use Beam Cable Internet service. Speed of 10 Mbps @ Rs.1000.00 per month. Gives speed in excess of 10 Mb for download and as much as 13 Mb for upload. Have 2 connections - one for office and one for home.

Thats damn cheap.I was paying 1399 per month for 4 mbps 30gb FUP without any free calls till now.
After reading your post called airtel but they don't have this plan here in delhi although they have launched some new plans.
So migrated to 8mbps 30GB FUP with 1000 mins for Rs.1599 per month.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Thoma
Hi
It is a combo plan and a couple of days back I read about some special offers at least in Bombay(MTNL).After a ceratin download at the speed of 1 mbps it reduces to 512 kbps.
I think BSNL would also have a similar plan.
Just check their website(hope it is updated) or call them.
Regards

My BSNL bill plan is titled "BBG FN 500"; Fixed Monthly Charges Rs 500; BB Day Usage 7503612 KB: (99:57:36 - hh:mm:ss) Gross Amount Rs 1465.43; discount Rs -511.97; Net Amount Rs 953.46. BB Night Usage (2AM-8AM) 10676501 KB free. My landline, which incidentally is dead, costs Rs 110. There is also a service tax of Rs 205.

I had completely forgotten about this plan details and had to pay heavy charges, ever since I got my iPad and my wifi modem I had kept on without switching off, since my iPad is wifi and I had to download all the free books and apps.

Now that my iPad is fully populated, to take advantage of this free Night Use, I set my alarm for 1:55 AM and shut down my BB at 7:55AM. Can you imagine my owl-eyes!

Smiles to all
Rom

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Was using Beam's 10 mbps plan @ Rs.1000 for over one year and decided to shift to 512 kbps plan and it feels as if I'm back to 2006 2007 days. Changed the plan again to 1mbps .

Thanks for posting this Jag. I recently got an SMS that my earlier 999 plan was discontinued and they are bumping me to a 1050 plan. After seeing your post, I opted for the 1250 plan. Got a reply that it will be activated in 7 days. Cant wait to see the blazing 8 mbps speed. I am not fully certain they offer this speed to all areas in Bangalore. Lets see what they come up with.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I use a Tata Photon+ connection with the 5GB plan (my usage is typically about 2-3 GB). There's a Tata Photon Max that I tried and it is roughly 4 times as fast as the Photon+ connection. The packages for Photon Max are different from the Photon+ package so if you download a lot, you could probably stick to Photon+ with the 5GB package, and if you need higher speeds and lower FUP data limits, you can switch to Photon Max.

Just an FYI, Tata doesn't do trade-ins of the USB data cards that they sell. Not that it matters, considering that they've dropped the prices of the data cards since the initial introduction of the plans.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Update: My Airtel 8mbps 60GB @1250 plan has been activated. Got the first taste of blazing fast speeds. Was able to download a 28mb file in about 30 seconds. I'm loving it!

Using at home , Airtel 8 gb bonanza plan, gives 8 gbs @ 2 Mbps per month. Speed drops to 512 Kbps after that but can buy smartbytes (like a top up) to maintain the speed. Also includes 200 local calls free.
Fairly satisfied but I may bump up to a higher plan later. They have a 15 gb plan too.

At office, MTNL unlimited plan @599 pm at 2 Mbps till 2 gb then 512 Kbps.
