Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Was frustrated with my both Tata Photon connections, first took the 2 GB plan at 750. Used to exceed like 4k per month. Got it changed to 5 GB for some 950 still the speed was pathetic. Took one more connection of 10 GB but now as per dad's order got the Airtel WIFI 4 MBPS 30GB @1299 with added benefit that call charges are capped at 300 per month. Really, glad I got Airtel! After sales service of Tata is really disappointing.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Use the modest MTNL combo plan with 512kbps assured unlimited for 500 bucks a month with Phone line connection included.

Am limited to 20 hrs per day so need to keep the Router off for some time - normally night in my case as the laptop, tablet or phone would constantally download some stuff.

Unlimited plan sees to it that I don't get a shock in the billing every few months.

I am using ACT fiber to home. 1000 per month at 10 Mbps for 50GB post download only and 512 Kbps post 50GB. Service had been good so far. The only problem faced is due to power cut. They have switches installed to get Ethernet to home and these switches have battery backup of just 2-4 hours. So longer powercuts cause issues.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

For some reason, I just want to stay put with BSNL inspite of some good plans on offer by Airtel.

Firstly, ever since I have moved on to a BSNL connection have never experienced a break in service due to a fault at the operator's end.

Secondly, it has a lot of personal touch. Since its a government organization one can expect to interact with the same people over an extended period of time. For instance, any time I face an issue I simply call up this elderly gentleman who I address as 'uncle', and sure as ever, I have a person at my door step within half an hour of my calling.

Thirdly, my plan isn't too bad. 40 gigs @ 4mbps and 512kbps after that. All this for Rs 1299/- a month. And since I have a landline connection too, I end up paying around Rs 1500/- per month for everything.

There used to be a time when BSNL used to be cheaper - but Airtel is way cheaper now atleast in Bangalore. I recently moved my plan to 60GB@8MBps / 512kbps. It included 1000 bucks worth local calls - and the total bill is only 1250+taxes.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Have been using 2 different broadband connections.

1. You broadband - Approx Rs 1100/- per month for unlimited download. Speed is 10 mbps upto 25 GB and then on it is 512 kbps

2. Act broadband - Approx Rs 1100/- per month for unlimited download. Speed is 10 mbps upto 50 GB and then on it is 512 kbps

Both are great. Works like a dream in wifi mode too. All tariffs mentioned above are including service tax etc.

You broadband you have to make the payment in advance every month. However it works the other way for Act broadband.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I'd give 2 thumbs up to MTNL. Have been using ADSL broadband since donkeys now and don't have a reason to complaint. Have recently changed to an unlimited plan 2 mbps. Costs me 600 + taxes.

And for all the brickbats these guys get I would like to mention that they have returned my Rs 600 that had been wrongly charged over a period of about a year. Their systems were still showing that I had their modem when I had already submitted and was using my own wifi router.
