One solution is to electronically lock the telephone line to completely switch off dialling out. Incoming calls will come though. Will not affect the broadband part at all!

Hooray!

Airtel were cabling my road yesterday, at long last. I was happy with BSNL's service and support in Mylapore, but here it has been dreadful, and I'm not happy with 256K Fraudband.

I pay 750/- per month for 300kbps unlimited reliance broadband connection. Best part of this connection is I get a adsl modem with battery backup so works even when there is a power cut and the speed is not always regulated, just today I was downloding a torrent at 4.7M/Sec

Cheers!!!

M for miles, m for metres.

I wonder what he was downloading?

Anyway, currently BSNL Home 750 UL, paid a year in advance. The 256 speed is rubbish and I don't download much, so don't really need the UK.

If I go to Airtel I will spend a couple of thousand on a decent speed.

Yes, 4.7M/Sec. I was downloading a game actually. Did not take a screenshot that time, but today again got similar speeds. I'm attaching the screenshot, took me 19m to download the whole movie.

Cheers!!!

Looks like there is a local source for the game/movie, someone on the name network.
