Sir, could you please confirm if the 8GB limit that you stated is the FUP limit? I mean, i am a heavy downloader and i will download around 100 GB per month. So is it okay going with this plan? BSNL wont charge extra, will they?

P.S : The exact cost is 850 + taxes, or is it some other plan?

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Beyond 8GB, the BSNL connection(900/- 8gb 2mbps, crashes later on) gives pathetic speeds. Im downloading a file since morning & the speeds are ~ 10kb/sec. Can't get worse, thinking of changing to some other provider in area.

The cost is 900 + taxes. 8GB is the FUP limit, there are no additional charges for additional download. This is an unlimited plan

After 8GB download the speed drops to 50 KiloBytes/sec. I tend to download about 75GB/month.

The plan is BB Home Combo ULD 900

Hope that helps.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I also use the BB combo 1000. Speed is 4Mbps till 8GB and after that 512kbps. However, I dont cross the 8GB limit anytime. Quite satisified but download speed has never crossed 220kbps. Anyone using the same plan and getting higher speed? If so I will bash up the JTO of my exchange

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I can't seem to find a better thread for this question. Does anyone know of a prepaid wireless broadband plan that gives us a certain amount of data for a longer period of time. Something like our prepaid mobile plans that we can top up based on usage and not based on time?

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I pay ~Rs 660 inclusive of service tax every month for my Tikona wireless broadband service. The speed is 512 kbps with an unlimited (actually up to 80 GB) usage. I have been using their service for two years now and apart from a few problems (the external nano station had to be changed few times) I have no serious complaints. I have never exceeded the 30 GB limit per month so I don't know what the speed falls to if the limit is breached.

The customer service helpline has been good as well. Whenever a complaint is placed, a service engineer visits my place within the close of two business days to rectify the problem.

Why don't you try Tikona Wireless Broadband?

The maximum pre paid plan they offer is for 90 days. I do quite a bit of travel and in some places even Reliance doesn't connect. Isn't Tikona only for fixed city usage?

Same offer here in Bangalore. The chap came to our apartment and was able to strike a deal with one of my neighbour. It is based on optic fibre and the wiring was completed a few days back. Though the price and speed is mouth watering, I will wait and watch the QoS, aftersales etc before enrolling myself for the connection. For now, I am really happy with BSNL broadband(maybe a rare case).

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

After repeated complaints to BSNL in vain, I am now looking for a new broadband vendor.

Has anyone tried Airtel 4G in Bangalore (airtel 4G LTE ? internet will never be the same again with airtel 4G LTE high speed wireless internet)?

Feedback and suggestions would be a huge help.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Been using Tata Indicom broadband back from days of VSNL.

Right now the plan i use is a flash 384kbps plan which is no longer present.

384kbps during the day [dont use internet much in the day] and 1.5Mbps from 10PM to 8AM and on Sundays 24Hrs. Which is awesome.

But what is more interesting is that there is strict FUP enforcement. Even after exceeding my FUP limit i face no cutting down of bandwidth.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Beam Broadband.. 1020/- p.m.
10Mbps plan - always gives great download speeds!
Uploads get great speed as well. Always above 5Mbps.
30GB is FUP but, thats not taken seriously usually. It gets reset within a day or two.

We pay 720 per month for the office connection which is 2mbps for 5gb and post that the speed drops to 512 kbps. 1750 for 3 months for the residence speed is 1mbps and unlimited downloads/uploads. Planning to bump it to 5mbps after a couple of months.
