Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

BSNL's 1800 + Taxes plan gives me 4Mbps with 100GB FUP limit. Service has been quite good; using it for the past 2 years now.

Just shifted to Reliance's 1199 4Mbps unlimited, no FUP plan.
Holding well so far. I upgraded from the same plan of 2M to this.

I get this speed only when my device (PC or Laptop) is directly connected over Ethernet. Wifi gives around 10-20 Mbps.

Hi
As posted earlier by me I pay rs.599 for 10 GB FUP,30 days. After that is exhausted I get 512 kbps unlimited.
Wireless router gives me around 38 MBPS. Have noticed that their server speed is 72 MBPS.
Regards

Unable to find your post.

Which plan is this ?? 599 for 10GB is quite a deal.

Also, which router are you using ?? I am using a basic DLINK wireless router, guess may be thats the reason for the low speed ??

Yes change the router. I use a TPlink WR740 and get 48-49Mbps.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

How is airtel "landline + broadband" service in Trivandrum? The executive is pestering me to take a combo plan (land line + broadband), but I am thinking of starting with just a landline to check their service levels.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I pay roughly INR 1300/month and my connection is Airtel. In my view the broadband service is over-priced in India and the infrastructure is badly managed. There are very few players around, at least in Chennai, and keep going to the same players again and again. I wish for the day when we get 20MBPS download speed over fiber. Will that ever happen in India? Even if it does happen the pricing could be atrocious. It's high time TRAI introduced local loop unbundling concept in India. Will help to reduce the infrastructure cost and make the market more competitive.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I pay Rs 1100 every month for my Reach broadband connection. This is for 15 mbps anf the FUP is 60 GB. I have hooked up the connection to a Tplink WIFI router.
So far both the router as well as the ISP have been good.

BEAM Fiber in Hyderabad.

999/- for 15Mbps connection at home. This definitely is the best broadband connection that I have used / come across in India.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

ACT recently advertised about broadband availability in my neighborhood, thought I'd try given that Airtel broadband increasingly seems like lesser value for money.

Sales and installation was courteous and professional. They arrived at the promised time. Installation was a breeze as the fiber junction was just across my apartment. The CAT5 cable from the junction is less than 30 meters.

Signed up for the INR 1299 25Mbps 60GB FUP plan. Been testing ping and download rates with various servers around the world. Ping rates to their Chennai server is about 4ms! Mostly positive experience so far.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Anyone using ACT broadband here in bangalore? I've been using airtel 16 mbps plan with a 75 gb FUP and I'm sick of it lagging after downloading 2 or 3 movies. I was wondering about the 25 mbps ACT plan with 100 gb FUP, although it's 2000 rs which is a hundred bucks more than what I pay for airtel. If it is reliable and no down times occur, I'd be happy to move onto this. Can anyone help me out here?
