What's it with cars catching fire ? In Chennai, we have had the Cielo, Ikon and a Contessa. Now a Honda. This is scary.

my friend made it a practice to have one of those small/handy CeaseFire things in his car always (after his contessa caught fire sometime back). Ditto with his brother who carries one in his 118NE. I guess it would be useful to have one of those in the car.

i guess one should keep a hammer in his car for obvious reasons.

btw, which is the weakest glass to break? side windows or windscreen?

windscreen is laminated so i guess it'll be tougher to break.

I've heard bout two or three NHC's catching fire in NCR. Is it just the NHC ? If you guys travell on the Greater noida expressway half way down on the left side u can see a NHC burnt to scrap, its been lying there for a year or so i think

Why did the central-locking fail?! Moreover, the locks can be opened physically, right?! IMO. all electronic safety features must always have a mechanical alternative.

Yeah i dont understand this theory of "Central locking failure" how does it happen? Can't u always override the locks from inside the car ... someone please shed some light on this

I dont know if this product is available in India or not but its called "Life Hammer". It is basically a hammer + one end is designed to cut through a jammed seat bealt. Pretty handy in fire situvation and flood or water drowning situvation where the electronics of the car stops working.

Life hammer tool will not break windshields or laminated glass, Revharder you are right windshield will be tuffer to break... and some vehicle side windows are also laminated.

it happens quite often that central locking fails when there is an extremely urgent need to open the doors.
many a times my car's door-pin gets very hard to operate and gets smoothened on its own! but with remote it works very fine!

so i guess they are really prone of failing during a crash or fire etc.
