Team-BHP - Review: Adlabs Imagica (Theme Park @ Khopoli)

I searched on the forum but did not find any reviews of Adlabs Imagica the entertainment theme park near Khopoli off Mumbai Pune Expressway, so putting a post for benefit of all the bhpians( Mods – please do not consider this as an endorsement of the park)

Adlabs Imagica (http://park.adlabsimagica.com) is a theme park near Khopoli around 3 km off the expressway. The park had opened sometime in April-May this year. Newspaper reports at that time had mentioned some of the rides not functional at that time, hence had planned a visit post monsoon.

With 18th Sep. being a holiday on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi had planned a visit on this day. The bookings can be done either through the park website or even bookmyshow. I did not book the tickets earlier so 18th morning, I visited their website. While trying to make a booking using the netbanking facility of (Bank X) , I encountered difficulty and transaction did not go through. Within a minute ,before I could fill in the details for booking through other bank, I got a call from Adlabs Mumbai office asking whether, I was trying to book and encountered any problems. The person on the other side even agreed to take a phone booking for me. (Really appreciated the prompt customer service and the way the representative answered my queries. He even waited till I completed my booking through another bank and confirmed my booking). They have number of packages available and I had opted for a Family pack option( 2 Adults + 2 Children)

Since the park timings are 11 AM to 8 PM, and driving directions being clear, I left my residence around 1045 and reached there around 1145. Drive along the expressway was smooth, hardly any traffic on account of public holiday. To reach the park, if proceeding from Pune side one needs to take a U turn just before the Khalapur toll and take exit for Khopoli. All along the stretch clear signage’s are provided.

The park has a huge parking lot with parking charges being 100/- for a car. They have multiple ticket counters . If online booking is done, one needs to show the soft copy and photo id. Before entering the park, they thoroughly check the bags (as thorough as any airport).

The park is divided in 6 zones with different rides in different regions. The waiting area for the rides is properly covered to protect from the weather. I found the staff present very courteous and friendly. The park is maintained very well. They have 5 restaurants but it seems only one of them operates on weekdays. (One of the staff member on checking did inform that on weekdays there is hardly any rush but on weekends they have huge crowds).They even have motorized buses to carry people from one part of the park to other.

One of the best ride which shows the splendor of our country is I for India which is a film show of different locations shot from a helicopter on a wide screen. On the adventure side the scream machine is the best ( I would not go much in details about the rides)

I would rate the park almost at par with the parks in other countries. In my opinion the food is expensive and secondly they can improve the light conditions in the parking lot. Overall a good day to spend with kids. The kids really enjoy the rides.
