Why is this forum called "Shifting Gears"?

Shifting gears is an important part of driving, of course that was stating the obvious. For me, a perfect shift is also the single most gratifying experience of driving my car.

Since this is an off-topic forum, it should be called something that's related to driving but not really dependent on it, like "Slowing Down" ..heh.

Any other suggestions you guys have for a new name for this forum?

Slowing down too is a part of driving!!

How about just "Off-Topic" ??

Slowing down may be a part of real world driving, but we all know its not what we want to do after having pushed the pedal!

"Slowing down" would be a sarcastic take on "going off topic with driving" .. get it?
