Yeah Arrgggeeeenttttiiinaaaa!!

And for tees - guess the football fever still hasn't caught up. I got a nice Argentina tee some months back at some shop that was selling seconds. Heck, it was an Adidas (IIRC) tee.

I am looking at how far teams like Belgium will go.
And interesting to see if England call pass through the first round.

Good find, I should hop over to the Adidas Factory outlets and pick one up soon before it runs out. Could you tell me if it was the Marathalli one?

re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Now with all the excitement that the Football World Cup brings, the advertisements from Nike and Adidas were always exciting.

This is the new Risk everything ad from Nike for the 2014 WC.

Adidas hasn't released their ad yet but there's a new surprise addition in the form of Samsung, although the ad isn't great, they've got some big names (Messi and Ronaldo )

Also here are the Adidas and Nike commercials from the previous world cups.

My personal favourite

Being a Manchester United fan for as long as I can remember, England was obviously the team I started supporting, but for the past few tournaments, their matches are even more boring than looking at a teapot for 90 mins. I still support them and don't change teams with the tide (any Manchester City fans here? )

From the way Germany have played in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, its them who deserve the cup more than anyone, if they can play at the same standard that is.

Anyway, can't wait!

Argentina all the way.. Have been supporting them from the time of Mexico World Cup itself.. Brazil comes next and then comes Spain.. But I don't have much hope on Argentina this time. They have a good attack but not so great defence IMHO. But I think Brazil and Spain would do good this time again.

And to down with Germany and Italy, hate them most. Germany for beating Argentina in 1990 final and Italy for their over defensive football (although last couple of times time they played differently)..

Italy all the way. With their watertight defense and fantastic mid field play, they make the opponents work really hard for a single goal. Big fan of Francesco Totti. Fantastic yet under rated midfielder. Hope he makes himself available and gets a chance to play at least one game

I believe it's going to be Brazil, Germany or Spain this time around.

But I would be watching Belgium and England with interest - they will be the dark horses in this tournament.

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Big fan of Germany in the good old days of Matthaeus and KlinsMANNNNN!!!- watched World Cup football religiously between the Mexico'86 and USA'94 editions but then academics and work got in the way! Tried watching the last edition but the new faces left me a bit cold. This time it is in the Mecca of football- Brazil- and will definitely make an attempt to follow as closely as I can. Will stay glued to this thread as well

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Will support anyone who plays beautiful football. Felt cheated by the Dutch and the Brazilians last time (expected in the case of Brazil with that Dunga as coach. This time with Scolari at the helm, Brazil will hopefully go back to their old ways)

Had hated the Germans earlier, but from the 2004 Euro onward they have been playing entertaining football.

Almost all the Europeans and South Americans have interesting teams - think this edition is going to be a cracking one!

My heart is with Brazil, but hope they will be able to handle the pressure of playing at home. Also like the Germans for their precision play.

Can't stand Italy. Also find England overrated most of the time.

I am a Spain supporter though was a Brazil supporter couple years back. The Spanish team game style impresses me a lot and hence the support. Hope they can win it again this year.
