Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Came out of the sadness of seeing Argentina loosing. They fought well yesterday, were able to keep the likes of Muller/Klose out for most of the time at the back and create some great chances in the front. Germany clearly were the attacking team and Argentina strategically decided to defend and rely on counter attacks. Di Maria's presence was badly missed and things would've been different (ie attacking Argentina and attacking Germany and so a high scoring game) if he was around. I also felt that Lavezzi was playing well and shouldn't have been replaced in half time. Anyway, it was Germany's day yesterday and they won at the last minute, almost. All in on, I have enjoyed the game and badly wanted Argentina to win but now will have to wait for 4 more years atleast.

He had been, but the other team and referees were waiting for ARG captain for the toss and so he departed earlier. This is what I understood.

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Ok looks like this thread can be put to rest now.

All in all, I thought it was a very enthralling World Cup. I loved every minute of it. Some great games and goals.

I was happy to see the USA, England, Spain and Italy go out. Algeria and Chile played really well. It would have been great if it all ended with Argentina taking the cup. Alas it was not to be.

Until the next World Cup!

Oh and for other Club-related football that will start soon - for instance, the EPL starts on 16th August, you can post on this thread - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...ll-thread.html

Why wouldn't he?
He'll only be 31 in 2018!
